lol looks like Silvervale is getting mad at the prospect of viewers suggesting she plays with the other vshojo players. While on one hand I get that it probably is frustrating when people try to tell you how to stream, at the same time these are literally the people paying her way forward. It turned out hilariously though because ironmouse ended up meeting a bunch of streamers who are much more known than vshojo crew lol she was hanging out with/meeting sykkuno, Cr1tikal, videogamedunkey, jacksepticeye and fuslie in that one night.

Nearly every Twitch streamer has the words "play with" blacklisted or listed specifically in the rules as a bannable offense because the entire chat can turn into "PLAY WITH X" requests. Not sure if that happens on YT streams as much. OTOH this clip solidifies her stance as resident VShojo sorority bitch and the fact that she had someone edit in the subtitles tells me she probably thought this came off way cooler than it actually did.

Poor Gura. I honestly feel bad with how schizo she is about potential leaks now. She can't even open a pause menu in a game without blocking the screen.

That psycho that doxxed her family must have really hit her hard. She straight up refused to save Skyrim for hours because she thought her PC info would show up as a save path or something.

I kinda feel bad for the guy. With that said vtubing is a "tough" business. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of no name vtubers around so it is hard to grow an audience. You aren't going to last long if you don't enjoy streaming.

That's pretty much what happened, yeah. Not sure if it got worse than that but Gura's reaction to the whole thing makes me think it did.

The only thing that arguably gotten worse over time is the heavy hololive bias.

Whoever gets clipped the most/more frequently, gets a shot in the EN market. It just happens that Hololive are the translator's favourite by far. Honestly I'd love more Nijisanji stuff. I'd love to see more from Belmond, Ars, Yashiro, heck even Nijisanji ID but unfortunately my Japanese isn't all there. We'll see if that changes with Nijisanji EN, hopefully they don't fuck up the selection process.

I really don't get this idea that Niji is some JP only bullshit with no translations.
While Holo clips are abundant there's tons of clips out there for pretty much every Niji, they even have their own official english channel, and NijiID also has some translators of their own. While I get Hololive gets a lot more attention I wouldn't say Niji gets the short end of the stick, either people don't care enough to branch off from Hololive or they're just not interested since they do pander way less to western audiences

Maybe another reason people think Niji barely has translations is because their translators really don't get that many views, that's a well edited highlight compilation with only 33k

One fun thing about Nijisanji is that because the company largely leaves them to their own devices, they occasionally organize stuff that Hololive girls never would, such as a lotion sumo contest recently that ended up with the clothes of basically everyone involved being ruined (and one girl just going home without her underwear). Also, male and female nijis stream with each other without a care cause they don't have to uphold the whole idol image thing.

Also, related to this, I learned that lotion sumo is apparently a super popular thing on Japanese game shows, for basically all the reasons you'd expect. Go figure.

Concerning specific Nijis, yeah, if your favorite has almost no one subbing them, it can be kinda rough.

I have been meaning to get more into ninjisanji as well. My friend who never watches vtubers was more interested in ninji clips and still hasn’t watched any Hololive which I find kind of impressive due to YTs algorithm. My dumb attention span is so small when listening to JP streams hence why I rely mostly on clips, but there is the occasional JP stream I’ll watch like Haachama cooking or any game I’m interested in. I did find Kagura Mea hilarious but never followed up on streams. I’ve been wanting to learn JP for years so hopefully this just motivates me to actually start
