No, nerds have always had a chip on their shoulder about high school. The best depiction in Boomer thought was Revenge of the Nerds. They were already pushing critical race theory when I was in my last couple years of school. And I'm pretty old, in internet years at least.

In practice, we don't have anything resembling freedom of expression when voicing the "wrong" opinion can cost you your livelihood, get you barred from using essential infrastructure, and generally put you on the receiving end of a Chinese social credit score plummet (except through corporate means rather than government). I really don't see this country continuing to enshrine freedom of speech in the law when nothing about day-to-day life reflects that that we hold that as an important value.

At the very least I hope the American right is starting to learn capitalism isn't their friend any more than Communism is.
