General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

To be fair, for third world countries, effective weebs population don't grow on cable networks. It grow on local tv channel filling their air time with it, on free pirated clips on the internet, you get what i mean. Free access, the kind that let the proles watch japs entertainment with virtually no cost. Cable tv is expensive AND exclusive, but on today's world, internet access is practically necessity for anything and is actively encouraged by government of all level of capabilities. If Indians don't have those, well, that's why ID can turn into moderately successful foreign branch.
This is how anime ruled over latin america from the 80s to 90s, they got shows that we never got in the US or if we did, failed miserably like "knights of the zodiac" (what a hit).
From what I've seen from Aadya, she streams less frequently than Noor, but her and her peers stream in english exclusively. Vihaan can speak in hindi but chooses not to and Noor would rather stream in japanese.

Well if that's how they stream, no wonder they won't get any traction
Even if a branch like HoloID frequently switched their language, the whole branch always stick to a same language, they only switched language as they see fit

There's also the time zone difference to consider. It's a lot of things really but nijisanji could definitely do a better job promoting their EN (formerly IN) streamers.

Coordination helps though. I had some hopes for HoloIDGen2 but they don't seem to be capitalizing on it as much as I think they should.

EX: You get one JP friendly streamer that dips into EN and surprises with Bahasa, One EN friendly streamer that dips into Bahasa and surprises with JP, and you get One Bahasa friendly streamer that dips into JP and surprises with EN. . . if you go the 3 talent route. Essentially keep each group with a certain pair of streamers but who latch onto the third for that rare collab or rando stream. It's about coordination, and effectively streaming with your base.

Of course this is a very sterilized, business perspective,. And the combos are more than this. But a multilingual cast that each focuses on a language for the most part can be effective together if they work together.

The what?

Also, I think that all of the pretentious “message game” people should be forced (via Clockwork Orange machine, if needed) to watch Korone or Ayame play Papers, Please until they understand what games are supposed to be.

and I honestly have no issues with Papers, Please itself. It‘s a ’message’ game that is still interesting to play, lets you figure out what it’s telling you on your own, and it came out early enough that it was still unique in what it was doing. But I feel like it was the example that let every hack with a PC and a copy of GameMaker think they could do it too.

I mean I get throwing a quick blurb or message in chat for some interaction; it’s part of the medium. But, your right. Some of these idiots are insufferable. Especially when they spam in English or whatever when they know the person in question has no idea what your saying. Unless your asked to speak, are throwing some money behind it, or just making a quick and discreet interjection for entertainments’ sake, take a chill pill and know your place.

Edit: Ok, who here convinced Noel to sing that song from the Polka Hentai recording?
No way she sang that one?! I took a look at the timestamps and it doesn't seem to be there. If she did that's super epic lol.

The Haachama stream reminds me of a Bray Wyatt/The Fiend type of situation. Crazy shit, but that this is peak content right here. Haachama proves once again that her creative capabilities know no bounds.
At this point she's a "Content Creator". It's hard to be more specific than that.

I agree and I am all in for it. I really like when people use a medium (in this case, vtubing) to create a story or a lore of sorts that exceeds the boundaries of said medium. Like, a creative thinking out of the box situation. These streams are going to be the cream of legends, without a doubt.

I'm also convinced that she knows about that shit, because at some point she starts doing a raspy voice that is almost too troll like for that early in the stream.
I really like when people use a medium
Yeah, she is definitely a front runner though on how to think on the fly. Adaptation is key to the entertainment business and she has it in spades. Essentially, we watched this:
Anemacha told her little sister, your blind stream is lame.
Haachama responded with: Yeah, you right fam. Hold my beer I'm going to put my fanbase into an existential crisis real quick.

So because of this, it makes me thinking. Ear shape's is pretty unique to each person, so...

In the karaoke video (I haven't watched them all, just the timestamped ones), I notices that the girl in green's ear is bit round and angled. In ymd's photos, however, her ear is a bit more square with the aforementioned buddha's earlobes. However, I don't have much data to compare, and the video is not exactly crystal clear quality, so it's still inconclusive. But as for now, I deemed the girl in green in that karaoke vid not ymd. Let me watch it again and compare the ears more and the nose again
She's wearing a mask in the vid which is reshaping her earlobes. You can't trust that. The best course is to look at the shape of the eyes.
First of all, everything I said is base on what I remember when the said digger share the stuff with me. It's all second hand and I might misremember/mistaken something

Regarding the question;
1. Is the girl in green YMD? - Yes
2. Does the girl in green sound like Subaru? - I have terrible ear and even mistaken Roboco's roommate voice as Suisei, so I won't comment on it.
3. Do you think YMD is Subaru? - No

In this pic, YMD is the one in green. This pic and the one with kid even have the same face structure. Maybe the gap between tomboy and legit mom is just too much.

So in my opinion, the whole YMD = Subaru can only be real if Subaru make up a lot or all of the stuff she share about her life, and I think that's just too much work for a character. Also, the fact that all the JP-sites document this kind of "past life" stuff doesn't have any info on Subaru nor link the two together make me think it's because that isn't the case.

And yeah, I'll share the info if he dig up some more and allow me to.
Thanks for responding, Diya. You've pretty much convinced me.

I stand corrected. I looked closely at the ears, nose, and eye shape of the mom picture and the other pictures and compared them to the girl in the video I thought was Subaru and concluded that you are right, they are probably all YMD. And YMD's lifestyle would be too difficult to lie about for Subaru. I also noticed that the mom picture is way more recent (early December, 2020) and the others are mostly in 2017, 2018, etc. So a lot of time has passed for her to start "conforming" to what a Japanese mother "should look like." So, you are probably right. Green girl seems to be YMD and YMD is NOT Subaru.

Alrighty, then. I'm back to square one with Subaru, I guess.

Jesus, Okayu is brutal
It was posted a couple pages ago, but yours is slightly more convenient.

Let me loose a new rrat into the labyrinth of the thread: the primary purpose was fun, but these short clips have several other uses to the company. The fact that they're starting to get translations at least shows they're involving multiple people by now.

1. It could be checks to see how many clip fans are actually stepping through the gateway to the original channels.

2. Just Kanata had CC subs and Okayu Rejection has hard subs. They could be exploring options to deliver their own clip content.

3. They have what seem to be competent translators on the payroll unless they're all just gonna go to Coco for these little shitposts.

4. They've started poking some of the clip translators lately which could mean they're looking to do some of their own like the Niji channel.

Oh yeah, yesterday's Minecraft streams is full of events. I'll be covering the few that I remember.

Nenechi and Botan wanted to greet Ollie. They did this by:
-Nene: making an ice road tunnel that connects Gen 5 complex all the way to Ollie's tomb. Just so that Ollie can come to her room and take her stuff anytime.
-Botan: making a nod to Ollie's lore, she decided to expand her Shishiramen franchise to ID and opens up a ramen stand right next to Ollie's tomb.

Gen 5 chads.

FAQ = Love in Elite.

After she swimmed in lava, Moona cancelled her chilling in Nether schedule and decided to help Kanatan. And she recruited PPT. Kanata GakuenCastle is now UsaKen property. And they now own two iron farms. Sasuga UsaKen.

After that, she starts furnishing UsaKen office.

Reine played Minecraft off-stream after doing collab with Gen2 and Risu. She sticks around with Polka and stumbled upon Miko(Reine mama!).

Flare want to make Holoserver more beautiful by doing public road maintenance with using expensive glazed terracotta. She hopes by doing this, it will encourage more Holomem to use terracottas as well. She has been interested in it ever since she taught Polka about them. I don't think Japanese architecture uses these Moroccan pattern tiles so it will be interesting to see how Flare can expand her builds using it.

Later Miko and Flare doing architect together and roleplay while dragged Polka in their chuuni shenanigans.

Then they invited Kanatan and each showing off their builds(Miko with her new building, Flare with her incredible basement project, Kanatan with her current project + iron farm, Polka signed off to sleep).

Miko and Flare ending their stream by teasing Kanatan saying her castle looks like school which I can definitely see it looking like anime school. Kanatan becomes a tsukkomi by insisting it's not a school and never gives up on that. The finished build she linked does look like a mansion/a school attended by elites/rich oujo-sama students.

And today is necromancer's birthday. Doing countdown stream with Minecraft.

Kokoro Odoru is a meme song on the Japanese internet, she sang the original, not the hentai mix lol
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/kokoro-odoru
I first discovered it through a JoJo remix series (Kokoro Jojoru)
That’s what I thought it was. I just didn’t know the name of the song. This leads me back to my theory that Polka did a hentai game or she recorded the lines and edited them to the tune herself just for the memes. I lean more towards the latter because I’m sure if she did some sort of hentai, it would’ve been dug up already.

I don’t usually watch Rion’s streams because she usually has that whole “haughty ojou” voice and feel that doesn’t do much for me. But she sings like a heckin’ angel.

also, I think I’ve finally reached the level of Japanese knowledge that I can tell that overall the Japanese versions of Disney songs are similar even though the lines are different. But still not the level to know what the lyrics actually are.

(and of course, no one bothers to transliterate the Japanese version of an English song, because why would you?)
