Based on the grandma's apartment, I'm guessing she's not really rolling in the dough. She likely has enough to get by, maybe even a bit to support Chantal but it can't be much. I think Chantal's step-dad, and clearly her uncle (who has a winter house in Florida apparently) make decent money - probably more than the grandma has. But they're probably not subsidizing Chantal.

But really, Chantal lies. She is never honest about anything. So, even her comment about making enough to support Peetz if he quit could be, and likely is, a lie.

Sure, I buy Chantal makes more than $1,000 a month, but much of her comfort is her boring ass lifestyle. It sounds like the biggest expenses are takeout and it's not like she lives in the nicest apartment or anything.

Contrast that with ALR and you really see the difference, tho. ALR buys and buys and buys while also supporting Becky. If Peetz were to ever quit, Chantal might be able to support him technically but I'd wager they would struggle a lot financially.
