Hi, this is my first post and I specifically chose those thread because I feel somewhat irritated by Natalie. I have liked her work for a while but I think now is where I can no longer support her. First off, the Twitter blueballing. At first I thought this was a one time thing of updating her audience but it dragged into several tweets that basically was a dopamine hit for Natalie and her fans. For Natalie because it gives her the attention she wants and for the audience because they think that "mommy" cares about them. The video itself is probably the worst one yet as it reads like someone who got pissed off by J.K. Rowling and had an intense shower argument. This shower argument has some good parts where she trys to explain bigotry and how bigots are made, not born. I think that trying to understand people and their prejudices would make for a better video and significantly cut down on the fat of the video. That is the only part that I could stand because the rest of the video is her having a Gaga-esque milk bath with rose petals and being a wine aunt. I hope this isn't too disjointed as I wanted to express how I am disappointed with how she treats her fans and how she has really downgraded from her first videos and is more interested with style instead of substance.

Welcome to Nyk's farm. If you're not a troll (you never know here) you're not alone with your experience. Most of us were never a fan of Nyk. Some of us (like me) were, however, quite neutral about him and thought that he made decent videos at the beginning. If you want to lose any sympathy for Nyk you might have at the moment, just read all 237 pages here. We're not calling Nyk a man because we are fond of being cruel to trans people (not me at least). But many here (including me) don't believe that Nyk became trans for genuine reasons and we've got some evidence for it.

Edit: Let's hope people like Nyk read one day a book of Nassim Nicholas Taleb. He isn't the first one to point out that minorities can have incredible power in the form of cultural capital, but he describes it quite aptly. For example a religious minority (Sunni Muslims) in Iraq has much more influence in Iraq than the religious majority (Shia Muslims). It's often surprising for people to learn that Iraq and Iran are both Shia majority countries, since many people think that the conflict of Iran and Iraq is based on their different religious denominations (like in Bosnia, even though it's not true)

See, normal people just don't work like this. Unless they're constantly glued to the screen, have no social life, no social interaction outside of the internet, then these hierarchies just don't play into society, or at least, not as he's trying to say here. But well, at least we were right. I swear to god, these videos are getting longer and longer with less and less substance. I used to watch every single upload that he put out but I'm seriously considering skipping this one, it's apparently a fucking MOVIE about how JK Rowling is transphobic. Besides, haven't I already heard basically everything there is to be said about this subject? "Blah blah blah she's a terf and that's bad"? Contra, you used to make in-depth videos about actual politics and not just things that morons on twitter are obsessed with, this is just sad.

I forgot to mention that Nick talks about the reaction he got from talking about his sexual assault in previous video. He blames terfs for making comments like “you must have enjoyed it” which seems a bit weird for a radical feminist to say.

Thanks for your reply. I genuinely liked her content but I no longer like it as it has become very empty and no longer has any meaning. There's no feeling of hatred towards Natalie personally, but I am disappointed as she had such great potential.

I will say this. Natalie is right that JK is not going to be hurt by the Twitter mob. She has that "fuck you money" and an enduring legacy. The other valid criticism I will give to Natalie is that Maya Forstater is appealing to some of the stereotypes that most trans people are sex perverts seeking to get into women's spaces. But Maya's comments about sex being immutable are just facts. Saying human biology can't be changed is not a transphobic dog whistle.

It's so frustrating when Natalie acts like she's speaking for all trans people when she says things like "Most transgenders understand that sex is real and being transgender is a psychological condition. Yes we've read a science book heyhowareyou" (paraphrasing more or less).

She is leaving out that there is a vocal group of transgender people online that are opposed to any action distinction between trans and cis people and it's transphobic to suggest otherwise. Hell, even Natalie has been labeled problematic and "cancelled" by her own trans community who are more woke than her. JK's comments were directed at the subset of trans people who want to erase all distinction and force the idea of transition onto immature and impressionable kids.

Natalie knows all of this. She's not stupid. She knows about this subset of trans people and she knows that that is who JK is referring to. Instead she chooses to go after rather pointless things like JK saying "wear what you want" in a tweet as if she's suggesting being trans is an article of clothing. No, sweaty, that's not what she meant and you knew that, but let's make her out to be a total bigot so you can win the fight.

When Natalie produces her videos she selectively leaves out information that doesn't support her story. She's crafted a veneer and a world for herself in which she's always right. That's why I don't think she'll do any more debates with critics, because she doesn't want to be confronted by these points.

And the lighting in the video isnt too bad, she definitely seems like someone that could trap a guy if you were in a bar with her late at night. Especially in Maryland (or the rest of the south) where its mainly ugos and nogs. Sure she wears a lot of make up. But so do most women her age, plus cis-women 6 feet tall look a bit like dudes already. If we compared her to other tall Maryland women her age she probably passes a lot better. You'd be surprised at the slugs you see during last call in a lot of places where she is.

Amazing, considering that the double X chromosome actually makes women less likely to develop severe mental illness. The second X serves as a sort of backup for faulty genes. The whole "weak Y chromosome" thing. This is also why mentally ill men are more likely to turn into insane animals compared to mentally ill women. If the genes on your X or Y are fucked up, you bear the full brunt of it. Got coded for schizophrenia? That's what you'll have. Women have another X that gets thrown into the mix that may cause them to end up with something like depression/anxiety over full-blown schizophrenia. They have more mental illness, but less severe mental illness than men.

I didn't watch more than ten minutes, but did it - in your opinion - need to be 90 minutes? Lindsay Ellis made a 20 minute video on this back when this was still topical. In a way I get that contra would spend time on this since it's their terf (haha geddit) but I'd need some more reason to actually spend that time watching this when I could watch a movie instead.

I’m only six minutes into this video, and while I am going to finish it (I will lay down my sanity for the farms) I can’t get over her demeanour. I don’t even know how to describe it. Beige Frequency called her videos “menstrual shows” which is probably as close as I can get. For all the jokes about being a drag queen it’s clear that that’s basically all she is.

Put it this way, if I tried to integrate into the Afro-Caribbean community with this level of tact I’d be slathered in Nutella with big raspberry lips and nobody in polite society would ever talk to me again. I’m amazed more people aren’t discomfited by it.
