Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

What the fuck is this?

Never mind that both these people have voted in favor of pro-abortion legislature, one of them was raised in a household where one parent was a monotheist and the other was a polytheist, and there's nonzero chance they both worship Moloch-- they stuck the ostensibly Roman Catholic Biden's head on an Eastern Orthodox icon of a bishop. And then they shopped his head onto Jesus' body for the last one. Either someone's taking the piss or this country's sicker than I thought.

There are people who really thought that Trump was a messianic figure during his term, but that's at least at the fringes of reason. But it might hold true that the average conservative is just a liberal going the speed limit-- in 2008, there were Democrats were painting Obama as a messianic figure, and now in 2021, they're this close to divinizing Joe Biden-- oh wait, no they're already starting.
Tbf, at least they're pandering to their base by photoshopping Biden's head onto Joan of Arc's body in the second one. It's like being double trans.

Someone's taking the piss, it's not official merchandise. Celebrity prayer candles are pretty common.

The surest way to divinity is a violent, public death. Whether stabbed in the back by senators like Divus Iulius, or crucified like Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, or inconveniently overdosing in the middle of an arrest like George Floyd, there is only one way to turn a man into a myth. I feel Joe is in terrible danger.

A lot of it involved strange animation, actually. Even for someone who isn't an animation buff, the extent that some of the animators went to during the reign of the Soviets to keep their cartoons flying off the presses is genuinely impressive. Stuff like Nu Pogodi (Basically the Russian equivalent to Bugs Bunny) even carried on all the way up until just last year and is still wildly popular in Eastern Europe, but because the Soviets didn't really have any criteria for their animation teams other than "just keep producing animation to prove our country can be just as good as America" it let the animation teams crank out some really wild, creative shit, because they never really had to worry about funding.

As long as they were producing any form of creative animation for the sake of propaganda, that's all the Soviets cared about, and we got wild shit as a result of it. There weren't really the same standards or motives to Russian animation the same way that the West adhered to, because the end goal wasn't really profit, so you never knew what the Hell you were going to get. You might get weird stop-motion shit like Hedgehog in the Fog, you might get whatever the fuck FRU-89 was supposed to be, you might get the acid-trip that was Interplanetary Revolution, or Russia's own attempt to retell Treasure Island, which inexplicably starts with 5 minutes of live-action Russians shooting cartoon bullets at each other, shirtless, shot in Earnest P. Worrell-style close-ups.

It definitely wasn't as lame as this, but goddamn if it didn't get incredibly confusing from time-to-time. Unshackling the animation industry from profit meant that you never had any fucking idea what was going to come out of the studios. One of my favorite ones was some kind of drug-fueled stop-motion animation routine but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it, and so much weird crap came out of that era of animation that unless you speak the language, good luck even finding it by accident.

Seems slightly off topic, but you can't forget Polygon, The Butterfly and There Will Come Soft Rains. When you mentioned creative animation that's what came to my mind. I couldn't remember the exact names but somehow a couple of searches managed to turn them up.

Have people called Joe Biden "The Last of Us Part II of Presidents" yet, like how some people called The Last of Us Part II the "Joe Biden of video games"?
Makes sense. Lots of hype, little delivery other than punches to the players/voting base, incredibly clunky handling, still lauded by journos as the best thing since Sliced Bread VII.
Biden is TLoU2, Death Stranding and Cyberpunk 2077 all in one.

At the rate this regime is going, I think I'll welcome Trump back with open arms for 2024. I can already see him telling people how right he was about Joe, the Media, etc.
Welcome to one party rule. They don’t have to care about the consequences. With an ineffective “opposition” party that cares even less about the people they claim to represent than the ruling party, cramming the country full of refugees and making ballot printers go brrrrr, they can toss major industries aside if they feel like it.

They can finally make good on their ideological goals they’ve been hyping up for decades. I’m not sure displacing major industries and letting most of the workers go without economic opportunities is going to turn out well but the oil and gas industry is mostly wypipo so you’re not going to get any Democrat or Republican to fight for them.

There’s going to be a lot of “let them eat cake” moments from now on. Will they ever be held accountable? I think we all know the real answer to that question.

They're going to start eating lead if they aren't careful. This is basic "how not to create an armed insurgency" and they're failing every lesson.

And if they are trying to make this sort of unrest happen, it isn't going to go the way they imagine.

Oh please. Your "armed insurgency" is as toothless as the Navalny supporters, and the Capitol shitshow successfully proved that. It will never go beyond LARPing.

Yeah, this is not going to be solved with an "insurgency", armed or not. There will be a lot of disorganized rioting, though. That should be fun to watch from a distance.

The Capitol protests were just a tap on the shoulder. These people don't want armed insurgency and are giving leadership plenty of off ramps to avoid it.

Leadership and people like you misread the lack of desire for violence as a lack of willingness. Bad mistake to make.

Capitol hill wasn't organised as an 'armed insurgency'. It was a conservative boomer protest that got out of hand and turned into a fairly mediocre riot, considering the standards set earlier in the year.

I'm not saying that a genuine attempt at some insurgency would work, but there simply has NOT been an attempt made. Well with one exception, the radioactively glowing attempt by some retard militia group to kidnap that one politician a few months back.

My point is politicians, bankers, and journalists are the three least popular classes of people around. And if all three of them push back too hard on this one, seemingly unifying, pressure point then prepare for some fireworks.

As long as the National Guard is okay with receiving their paycheck (provided by the bankers) and being called heroes (by the journalists), any and all fireworks will be curb-stomped and labeled as domestic terrorism organized by fascist enemies of democracy (by the politicians). Cue counter-terrorist operations.

But by all means go ahead. It will be very fun to watch from across the ocean.

I never thought it was official merchandise-- my consternation was that they exist at all.

But I also didn't realize that the scope of these are much more broad than political figures.

I always hate politician merchandise.
These are the same people who would tell you MAGA is a cult. Yet there shit like this that said other ways. I mean yes there were some conservatives who treating Trump like a messiah type character but that was actually a fringe group of people despite what the media says. It was noting like Obama and worse Biden and Harris are getting. It doesn't help when celebrities start lining up to suck their dick.

It depends.

Of course, the sociocultural "left" and "right" exist, but in a more general sense, you have the "Haves" and the"Have-nots". Now, we have enough distractions to keep us divided along the ideological lines of "left" and "right" and our circumstances aren't universally terrible. If anything becomes substantially worse, you can expect at the least a temporary alliance within the Have-nots between "left" and "right" as they desperately try to change the power balance. If the guard dogs of the Haves are called into action at that point, it becomes harder to do counter-terrorist ops because you effectively have a peasant uprising.

Here's the thing: the Have-nots, in large part, aren't getting power taken away-- they're giving away the power they have (by voting while not being involved in the civics and politics themselves) and then acting surprised that people who get that power so cheaply aren't interested in using it in a way that doesn't enrich their pockets and their (the political) class at the cost of their (the people's) welfare. Part of the reason why any kind of rioting against the political class isn't going to work even a little (apart from the reality that rioting hurts the rioters and those they're associated with in the long term) is because the Have-nots operate, at various levels, with the false belief that they've exhausted all their other options. Because they haven't at all, and they're variously aware of this, a riot doesn't have the energy to exceed the fervor of a tantrum.

The short of what I'm getting at is that shit doesn't hit the fan until the people are entirely sure they've otherwise irrevocably lost all power. And it's going to take a lot to get to that point-- left/right divide aside, the bread and circuses we have now, much more accessible to the hoi polloi than any other time in history, not only demoralize but distract in rather effective ways.

Honestly, I feel a situation like this is more likely to change (note that I didn't say "be resolved") by infighting within the "haves". It's clear that multiple entities want a piece of the pie and for the time being they're willing to cooperate and share, but that sort of oligarchic balance of power is quite unstable. Those in power want more power, and once they can't pull any more from the people, they'll go for each other's throats. The problem is, that sort thing gets resolved in one of two ways: either a Great Leader rises (look at Xi Jinping in China) by crushing the other factions, or the whole system collapses in a very messy heap under the weight of all that infighting.

Neither is good for us.

Ukraine launches criminal investigation into attempts to interfere in U.S. presidential election

Ukraine has launched a criminal investigation into attempts to interfere in the U.S. presidential election, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office said in a statement on the presidential website on Thursday.

Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelensky’s office, said Ukraine would do everything in its power to bring to justice forces within the country and outside it who tried to damage relations between Ukraine and the United States.

“The State Bureau of Investigation has opened a criminal case,” Yermak was quoted as saying in an interview to the Ukrainian news outlet NV.

“The investigation is under way, and we are waiting for its results. The investigation must answer a lot of questions.”

The United States in January imposed sanctions on several Ukrainian individuals and entities, accusing them of U.S. election interference and associating with a pro-Russian Ukrainian lawmaker linked to efforts by then President Donald Trump’s allies to dig up dirt on Joe Biden and his son.

Among those blacklisted was Ukrainian parliamentarian Oleksandr Dubinsky, from Zelensky’s ruling Servant of the People party. Dubinsky denied interfering in the election. Servant of the People may vote to expel Dubinskiy from its parliamentary faction.

Joe puts his foot down, find the snitches or aid will be withheld!

Someone hasn't been keeping up with the thread, otherwise they might have seen those 3 already failing at this.
