/r/wsb autists taking on a wallstreet hedgefund. Elon musk involved as always / wallstreetbets / gamestop - Gamergate 2: financial boogaloo

Yes, because the plebs found a way to threaten the one thing they care about: Their money.
If you think a good half of their outrage hasn't been over being played by people they view as a lesser form of life I have a bridge to sell you in NYC. This isn't just about money, it's also about power. They don't like being reminded that they don't have it all quite yet.

Yeah, I'm on etoro and they suspended letting you trade GME a while back.

Billionaires literally having a tantrum and fitting so that they get to play with the toys and you can't touch them.

There's some reddit disinfo shill claiming this could sink Robinhood, don't believe the lies, the parent company of Robinhood, BlackRock is worth well over 8 trillion dollars.
Robinhood only survives by the hand of the corporate interests battling against the honest investors.
MAKE EM BLEED!

When people inevitably lose billions because of this blatant manipulation by the wall street AND the White House, AND WE GOT NO ORANGE MAN TO BLAME, All the elites are going to the center of people's grievance.

And orange man will return on silver horse to lead this new revolution. People will rise.

It's almost like there's some kind of theory or something about things like this that was offered in convenient book form, but what do I know? I'm just a plebe retard who doesn't understand the complicated financial methodology involved in selling things you don't own and stealing money.

12 years later, people still think Taleb was talking about "something very surprising that just happens".

Incidentally, he hasn't tweeted about GME at all. I think he isn't particularly shocked that a short trader blew up, and wouldn't care that redditors did it. It's all predictable from his POV and uninteresting.

But once someone finds out that what that bad assumption was, or uncovers a shiny new way to do bad trades that blew up RH, then it might be worth sending his way for comment.

I'm like 85% sure the Biden thing is fake

When he goes deep into optionality in Antifragile the point is pretty clear that you’re supposed to assume that habits lead to catastrophes. Just in case he didn’t hammer it home in the other books

...What? The only people* losing money are the ones that fail to sell by the inflection point tomorrow, assuming that the hedgies don't do something insanely retarded.
Everyone whose shit was auto-sold almost certainly made money, just not as much potential money. If they were forced to sell at a loss, well, they'll get their money back in those class-action suits.

*I am not counting the hedgies as people.

Trading stocks is part of a public business; if people are interfering with that, blocking sales, etc., then Gamestop should just sell directly. Go to Gamestop, get a PS5 and 2 shares. (I know the stocks aren't in their hands, it would just be funny to watch if they somehow circumvented the roadblocks).
