Hedgefunds raped and pillage basically every sector of American industry in the 80's. Drive through the rust belt and look at all those empty factories that used to employ 1000's. All killed by by wall street tricks like "leveraged buy out".

It's always good when people come together, but you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you bring it up. Conservatives in particular have been celebrating both sides coming together only to get slapped around by Alexandria Cortez.
The way to treat the situation is simple: know that for once in a long while both sides have come together, but don't acknowledge it, and, to be honest, don't even think about it. Don't try to shake hands with the other side, just continue to ensure the hedge funds march straight into destruction

-Find successful companies
-force them to be saddled with tens of millions of unneeded debt so the banking class gets their cut
-no money for R&D, actual capital expansion, better wages & benefits
-Open factory in China with zero worker rights, zero worker safety, zero emissions controls and zero waste regulations to "cut costs"
-Open more factories, close domestic ones.
-Company goes belly up, paracel out the corpse and sell the name for a final payday.
-Workers got a final paycheck, that's good enough.
-Domestic businesses aren't dying happening fast enough, start the Paris Climate fuckery.

Ted Cruz isn't "conservatives" any more than Gary Johnson is "libertarians". Now is a perfect time to point at the mouthbreathers who don't get that the right vs left clash always being thrust in the forefront of the political landscape in this country ahead of our institutional problems, is the source of a shitload of our societal ills, and call them out for the useful idiots they are. Same goes for people who make it about idpol.

It's best for everyone to point out that this is what needs to be taken care of before we worry about more granular problems. This moment needed to happen decades ago, but better late than never.
