Since most of the forum userbase is probably (North) American may I ask if you guys encounter those kind of people in real life? (i.e. sjw, extremists) How common is it really? I live in mainland Europe and travel a lot within Eurasia, meet tons of people everyday and those people are non-existing here, both in real life and on the internet. (well except Sweden maybe but who cares since there will be no Sweden 10~ years down the line, former prime minister of Sweden said he hates eveything Swedish etc.)
Is it specific to some places like San Francisco & New York?
I found a few examples where some of these people sperged out in real life but as you can see it's often a pretty onesided thing in terms of who has the upper hand during the debates & cultural exchange.
Backstory, some U.S women football team supporter was arguing with an English fan about important social issues and the English fan argued back.
trigger warning, excessive violence (trans-stomping)
(homeless transman was starting shit and then spit on some minority and the rest is self-explanatory.
Another thing that I constantly see is people complaining about the lack of diversity in major Hollywood movies everywhere in sjw circles.
I don't get it. They can watch international movies/world cinema/foreign films/Bollywood or whatever degrading term you have for it, if they want to see a diverse cast.
Hell, there are even services like Mubi for it.

The U.S. is still predominantly white/caucasian and that reflects everywhere not just movies. It has nothing to do with racism and cherry picking only whites or whatever conspiracy people have.
Also, everyone has a hard time in Hollywood if you don't have the connections.

I would say it's pretty common to meet people (in real life) with just a touch of SJWism-- typically left-wing beliefs with a little slight self-deprecating "My people did bad things in the past". Those people tend to be otherwise level-headed, they just tend to soak up the talking points from social media. Actually meeting a full-blown "RESPECT MY PRONOUNS! #KillAllMen Check your privilege!" SJWs is pretty rare, though. It's a combination of them not having the nerve to push their crap in real life, and being well aware that calling somone a racist or rapist on the street could easily result in an ass-kicking.
From what I gather, there are pockets where the SJW average is much higher (giant liberal universities, LGBT-focused communities) but you're still talking about small segments of people in the middle of a very large country that doesn't take them seriously, if they're even aware of them at all.

Fucked-up made-up pronouns and special snowflake bullshit? I've never even encountered anyone irl whose pronoun request went beyond a "he" or "she." Kill whitey cishet shitlord type screaming? Also pretty rare, outside a few contexts where being a rude prick is fairly common among all political denominations, like protests.
Of course, it's possible a couple old acquaintances have gone full dumblr in the last couple years, but last I checked the weirdest anyone I actually know irl does is maybe share silly clickbait links on Facebook and stuff like that.
It seems SJWs are pretty timid irl. Or until they've actually infiltrated and taken over some already left-leaning or neutral organization, when they'll suddenly get drunk on power and completely destroy the group in a fit of insanity.

Apparently, most people in the USA don't really consider using ideas of other cultures - even out of context (which could be called "cultural appropriation" by SJWs) - as inherently bad.
Nor do average Americans think of normal sexual expression as really being "dehumanizing" or "misogyny" (although compared to Europe, Americans are more prudish, but that's mostly due to conservative Christianity).
So I would say that IRL, SJWs are rare, and people with "liberal" type thinking aren't the majority (at least from what I remember from some polls).

It is hard to say who is a nutty SJW. The real test to see is when you are in an environment where they know they can get away with it such as in an university.
Another test is when the individual has even a moderate position of authority. Where a Social Justice Activist will be willing to allow the dissident to air his/her concerns, at worst tell him his comment is inappropriate dismissing it. A Social Justice Warrior will tell the dissident to shut up and then proceed to shame him. A SJW and a SJA are similar in ideology and they can look the same, but the Social Justice Activist is open to reason, the Social Justice Warrior is not.

Bet the dipshit doesn't know black people are more likely actually to die of skin cancers when they get them because they get diagnosed at a later stage, partly because they are somewhat less visible but also because some people stupidly think they can't get it.

These people just don't really seem to like white-skinned Hispanics/Latinos. Especially if they're blond-haired and blue-eyed.
Seems being white skinned makes you less of a Latino now. Despite the fact being racist in a sport makes the team no good considering you might be ignoring more skilled players. I wonder if she realized not only how much of an imbecile she was being but also how racist.
