Frankly, there's an easy solution to all of this: If you have a dick, use the restrooms with the urinal. Boom. Problem solved. I don't know why what fucking bathroom you use is so important to their "identity." I don't take a piss and think "boy, this really validates my existence as a male."

I have some sympathy for the parents though, because these girls are being coached by the internet and by their therapists to threaten suicide if they don't get their way.

It's this, absolutely, for a lot of them.

However, there's also likely a reverse element to some of them that you can't just sweep under the rug. I can guarantee some of these girls were the shy, withdrawn, introverted I'm not like other girls types before starting testosterone and when it ramped up their sex drive coupled with them now being 'men' they gain a weird sort of fake confidence, although given they're still only posting on a reddit to live out their fantasies not quite as much as they think. By posting on reddit they're basically writing self-wank fanfiction with other parties involved. A lot of people will have negative reactions to someone admitting they have a fantasy fetish for being dominated or even raped. Except both of those are very common fantasies in women, even in ones that had a fairly standard childhood with no history of abuse. You can just look at women's erotica novels and see the themes being written as to what is popular to know that being dominated by a aggressive masculine man, incredibly dubious consent, and/or rape in a weird fictional dress so it skirts the line because in the end the female protagonist likes it are very popular tropes for those books.

So for some of them by being 'men' now they can sidestep being vilified and judged for their sexual fantasies that would catch flack from a normal woman posting about it.

Edit; Especially so when you consider that there's a subset of FTMs who're doing everything they can to escape the cultural expectations associated with womanhood.
