So Vic is is suing for defamation, TI-EC, TI-PBR, and civil conspiracy, plus vicarious liability against Funimation.Ah yes, yes, you're right.
Isn't he sueing for both defamation per se and tortious interference? Both would apply, no? I mean, what they are saying about him isn't true to begin with and they technically did screw up his chance at business really early on. Unless that is also something else I am thinking of. I can't fathom what though.

If the statements are not true, then yes, Vic has a defamation case, since those statements definitely caused him damage. TI-PBR could also possibly be on the table if Vic can prove that conventions and dub studios were going to hire him but then didn't because of the defamation.
If the statements are indeed true, Vic wouldn't have a defamation case, because true statements can never be actionable. He could still make a case for TI-EC, since inserting yourself between two contract holders with the aim to damage that contract is a tort in and of itself.
Businesses refusing to hire him don't automatically equal TI-PBR, by the way. Vic has to prove that they were ready to extend contracts to him but then stopped when they heard the lies that he was some serial rapist or whatever. If he can't prove that, he can probably still make the assertion that the defamation has damaged his future economic prospects and just add those numbers to the confirmed defamation damages, like his termination and convention cancellations.
