I've never seen a study to this effect, but I think there's a correlation between the 'tism and the 'trooning. So many of them only seem to be able to relate to the world in terms of their "special interests".

Judging by the way troons tweet when they are transitioning I’d say this gives them some goals and something to live for, it keeps their minds occupied for a bit to think of what stage they’ll go through next. If that cheers them up it “proves” their theory that not being trans was the problem.
