That's my dad. He literally is a registered Republican, and never voted for Democrats before but voted straight-D this election. He didn't like Hillary either, and didn't vote for president in 2016. Hillary is more conservative than Sleepy Joe, dare I say, but it's objectively true from what I see of the policies he's implementing.
They could portray Joe as "respectable" and "responsible" and that was enough to win over some idiots who didn't like Hillary, even though Joe is worse -- and I say that as someone who can't stand either.

He's just super woke. I know I've mentioned working on Broadway, but here's a story how him and everybody's wokeness took down a broadway play that you'll never hear about in the media (or at least the media only spun it one way).
I was in the pit for "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812". It started off broadway, then went to broadway and took off. After a short run on Broadway, it swept the tonys. This was the best news ever because when a show wins that many tonys it means it's gonna run forever, like RENT or CATS or Wicked, or any of that bullshit. B'way pit musician pay runs anywhere from about $100,000 - $300,000 a year depending on what your role is in the pit band so this basically meant we had some serious financial security ahead of us for a change.
The white actor, who originated a role (in case you're not familiar, originate in B'way speak means he was the first actor to play the role) was set to leave the play. This happens - some actors get better offers or want to move on to different things. So the producers, in an attempt to be "woke" decided to replace him with a black actor. Now here's the part the media never tells anyone and I will because I saw it firsthand. The black guy they hired was a fucking disaster and a complete example of someone who coasts by on all their black privilege. He showed up everyday completely unprepared. And he had the worst, nastiest fucking attitude ever. Couldn't remember his lines, couldn't remember his dance steps, yelled at everyone, blamed everyone for everything, etc.
The problem is that he's set to replace the white actor who's leaving. So he takes over and he's a fucking train wreck. Like really bad - so bad that they need to make an emergency decision to save the play. They buy out his contract and decide to replace him with Mandy Patinkin, who's a broadway veteran and will have no problem getting up to speed in this role in record time and able to take over. Plus Mandy's name recognition on Broadway will help the ticket sales that have slumped because the black guy is so bad.
How does the media spin this? "WHITE ACTOR MANDY PATINKIN SET TO TAKE ROLE FROM BLACK ACTOR ON BROADWAY"
Twitter went fucking nuts and all the media had a field day on this and beat it to the ground. Mandy Patinkin freaked the fuck out in his ultra wokeness and bailed on the role claiming how he didn't know he was taking a role from a black person and he won't do it and dropped the role and did anything he could to escape the bad publicity that he was taking work from black actors. The ticket sales nosedived from the bad publicity, they lost Mandy Patinkin and they ended up closing the play a little more than a month after they swept the tony awards.
This play is in the record books for being the only play to ever close almost instantly after winning so many tony awards. It's never happened - shows like that run forever. When they came in to tell us that the show was done and it was closing, people were a mess. One chick in the pit band was crying and saying, "I just bought a house" because everyone thought they were gonna have a job for the next 10 years.
I don't give a shit - I have my hand in so many musical pies I just shift to other stuff so I'm never caught out like that. And besides, like 95% of musicians aren't just lefties, but ultra liberal commies so they get what they fucking deserve.
No one complained when the role - which was meant for a white person and first cast as a white person - was given to a black person, but when it was given back to a white person, that was enough for the ultra-woke sjws to crash the entire show into a mountain and put everyone out of work. None of the articles - including the wikipedia on the show will ever mention that the role was originated by a white person though - they always bury that tidbit.

It's crazy that people will vote based on what seems "professional" for the office. Personality has nothing to do with capabilities. Your super kind neighbor might seem like a good leader but could fuck everything up because they're weak willed. Meanwhile, the asshole down the street might seem like a bad leader, but he takes action and refuses to budge on what he thinks is important for everyone in the area.
Basically, how one talks does not equal how one walks. People really need to take in this kind of thought and keep it in mind.

Indeed. I suspect that people want a boss they can like, but since they've never been the boss themselves, don't get that there are two kinds of bosses. This isn't the KotH thread, but it's relevant here at 5:09. True believers picked Biden (insofar as massive fraud allows for choice) because they correctly assume they can walk all over him and that's definitely the case whenever I see Kamala Harris loom over his shoulder. He’s a notorious asshole. When he starred in The Wild Party (play on Broadway) he spit on and slapped his co-star Toni Colette; he also improv’d slapping some of the other actors, claims it was “method”.
He was so toxic he’d have meltdowns in his dressing room for hours and refuse to come on stage. He would skip shows because he was bitching about something trivial and finally the producers threatened to sue him if he didn’t fulfill his contract.
