with simple google searches, it claims that every month would be $1K minimum a month, while CS:GO players get less a month but get more over all in the year.

However, it is true just by looking through the richest people from both the Smash scene and the CS:GO scene, although it is a little harder since the Smash earnings were updated in 2019 while CS:GO Earnings were updated at the tail end of last year as the sites that have the closest numbers available have twice as many CS:GO player statistics than they did with Smash Player statistics. And even then, you can tell the difference between the top players of both scene's earnings.

But then again, this is the same scene most known for a part of it that stays on one entry of a party game series because of some glitches that give them an edge and pissed away what may as well had been their only chance for the whole thing to be taken seriously by the Big N because they wouldn't accept using grey area shit they knew Nintendo wouldn't like and went on to fall for a scam involving a dead man and bring other communities join them in to their failed hashtag.

There's also tons more opportunity in CS:GO.

CS:GO is much more attractive to sponsors/spectators because it's a very simple game to follow/get into. It's also fast paced and frequently exciting. It has a much larger audience than Smash does.
CS:GO has a much smaller barrier to entry (it's a free PC game) compared to Smash (Ultimate or Melee, but especially Melee).
CS:GO players that build out the skillset can easily transition to other FPS games (CoD Warzone, Valorant, Apex Legends, Overwatch) whenever there is a marketing push or money being thrown around in those games. Smash players basically can just play Smash.

The smash community not growing has very little to do from the lack of "official" support from Nintendo - it has everything to do with Smash being not a greatly balanced game, it being hard to get into at a high level, it not being really fun to watch, and the community not really agreeing on which game to play. All of that is way before any of the toxicity of the smash community or the fact that kids were getting molested there like crazy.

Smash just isn't that popular as a "competitive" game and you can't really force a community to exist - even if Nintendo ran a yearly tournament with a $1,000,000 prize pool for smash, it's not like suddenly millions of people would watch it. Even looking at their Smash tournament last year (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufu2cdBaLZU) - it has fucking 100k views. That's dogshit for a marquee title. Other titles have much larger audiences by the order of millions.

I dunno, I'm more worried about the guys touching actual kids than some guy jerking it over a drawing. One of these seems like a much more serious issue to address.

I like watching reactions to new smash games or characters and when Ultimate was announced and they showed off the new stages one guy i was watching in a compilation was just going "Banned, banned, banned" to each stage that showed up. The game gives you sho much shit to play with but these spergs just refuse to play with any of them and default to "Fox only, Final Destination, NO items" like what's the bloody point then go play Street fighter if you want a serious fighting game and give me my damn party game back.
