with simple google searches, it claims that every month would be $1K minimum a month, while CS:GO players get less a month but get more over all in the year. Its turned up to 11 in the Smash community though, and these teams are making bank each year through tournies, streaming, sponsors, etc. You see some of that in smash but not at the same level or even close to the amount of recurring revenue these bigger teams/games get.
However, it is true just by looking through the richest people from both the Smash scene and the CS:GO scene, although it is a little harder since the Smash earnings were updated in 2019 while CS:GO Earnings were updated at the tail end of last year as the sites that have the closest numbers available have twice as many CS:GO player statistics than they did with Smash Player statistics. And even then, you can tell the difference between the top players of both scene's earnings.
But then again, this is the same scene most known for a part of it that stays on one entry of a party game series because of some glitches that give them an edge and pissed away what may as well had been their only chance for the whole thing to be taken seriously by the Big N because they wouldn't accept using grey area shit they knew Nintendo wouldn't like and went on to fall for a scam involving a dead man and bring other communities join them in to their failed hashtag.
