Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I don't have enough moons for this thread. (:_(
Also my community newsletter arrived today, and of course there was a bit talking about how wretched little busybodies are pissed off that people have the audacity to be walking around without masks.

I went out for a few beers to re connect with an old friend and I saw a couple making out with masks on.

What the fuck is going on?
Do these assholes actually think that the masks are "protecting" them from something they are afraid of when their faces are smashed together? Or are they mostly just afraid of getting yelled at by a mask nazi?

These people were probably miserable sad sacks that no one wanted at their Superbowl parties anyway. I hardly ever see young, attractive, sociable people pulling this shit. It's only ever fatsos, dangerhairs, Karens and old fucks.
I usually ask these fucks if they support banning driving with over a 0.02 BAC.

So....what's the fucking point of being vaccinated then?

If I'm sacrificing my right to bodily privacy so you can jab me with a mystery substance, I better at least be getting something out of it.

Yeah no, fuck off.

As many people are saying, why offer it then?

The more people read this sort of thing, the less people are going to want to take it.

Anyway, from the sounds of it, the Oxford vaccine appears to be the one that causes the least trouble, so if that ever comes out and I have to take a Vaccine, Oxford might be the one I choose.

Oh fuck off, you bastards have been pushing these vaccines as the "only" way to end lockdowns.

If virtually nothing changes when we stick these rushed things in our arms, then what was the point of them?

In a just world, these clowns would get a foot in the ass right after getting tarred & feathered for crippling us all.

Granted, it'll cause airline companies and Hawaii to demand ANOTHER bailout, but seeing as how we don't get a say in whether bailouts occur in the first place, I don't consider it my responsibility.

Knowing the Hawaii state government, they'll probably still find a way to fuck it up somehow.

Here your wish :story: :story:

I don't look forward to the media stealing the vaccine credits and giving it to biden to claim he saved us all
I remember Kamala Harris in the VP debate say proudly she wouldn't take the vaccine if it came out and Trump, "says it's good."

I bring this up all the time but I feel like I was somehow the only one to see it or remember it.

Interesting news from japan about mental health

The meat of the article form a clinical psychologist and associate professor at Meisei University 藤井靖氏 He is explaining the "Three frees" to help people mentally with state of emergency happening in japan.

"The first is 'Free Talk'. Recently, Clubhouse has become popular, and everyone feels the desire to chat. Chat has been considered to be effective in psychology for a long time, specifically, human relations are not good. It has been said that it is good for relieving harmony and stress. It is the same for this corona disaster, and even in the data on telework taken last year, it is said that the ratio of stress relieving is different between people who are chatting and those who are not. I think that some people are not good at chatting, but it is said that it is okay to just listen to other people chatting, to know other people's thoughts and personalities, and friends I think that chatting has the effect of making you feel more comfortable as a result of touching the peaceful atmosphere inside.

The second is "Free Time". When I'm counseling lately, I think that people who spend a lot of time at home, especially for teleworking, have a negative side due to having a long family (Its saying have more distance form family physically if you are thinking negative instead of lashing out at them) . Negative emotions are a chain of things, and when you point them at someone, they always return negative emotions. No matter how close my family is, I often feel agitated and stressed every day, so I often say "positive family separation" so as not to create a vicious circle with each other, but I spend some time alone. It is important to make it consciously.

The third is "Free Mind". Nowadays, by putting yourself in an irregular social situation and living environment, you are less likely to be able to do so-called routines. Therefore, it has been pointed out that the unconscious area in the brain is swayed every day. I think it's more important to have a sense of putting your life under your own control, rather than the mindset of being "made to" or "being forced", including self-restraint. Rather than being driven by daily events and being swayed, I think there are many ways to find new hobbies and face work that suits Corona's illness, but in any case, to release my mind. It is important to create an active life in Japan. "

Its refreshing to see advice on how to stay sane instead of the usual here is a spooky new variant that will kill you and grandma.
Another odd thing is how sparse the corona news is in japan you see it mixed in with news about a case of bird flu being found in meat. something about some new sweater, a lot of politics non related to corona, and usually there's something about boats.

Sounds like there's zero reason for anyone but the vulnerable to get vaccinated. They hyped this shit up so much and now that it's here it apparently does fuck all but make your symptoms not as bad when you catch it (after you get sick from the vaccine too of course). Nobody young and healthy should waste their time on this. And if you think about it, since there's not enough doses of the vaccine out there, nobody young and healthy should be getting vaccinated (and ideally nobody young period since if you weigh 400 pounds you shouldn't be able to steal grandma's vaccine for your poor life choices). If you're a healthcare worker/TikTok nurse there's no point because you can still spread the disease to the old people you're around who haven't been vaccinated. I know I don't plan on injecting myself with this garbage, it is at best a waste of my time just like getting a flu shot is.

I'm obviously skeptical about forced vaccination of the elderly too but if someone feels like that's the best choice for their health and they want to take that risk, then good for them. It does look like the vaccine is less dangerous/painful for elderly people than catching Chinkflu is, but it's perfectly understandable why people choose to gamble differently.

For most business purposes, flying is obsolete anyways. Assuming work doesn't already demand you do everything by Zoom meetings, you should demand of your boss to not have in-person meetings. In ye olden days of the 90s, a common Dilbert trope was how meetings were called to set up more meetings so that managers could look like they were doing a job when they were really wasting everyone's time. Aside from vacation, which get regulated to such a degree that you have to spend ten days in a Hawaii quarantine instead of surfing and/or gawking, there's no need to fly anywheres.

Granted, it'll cause airline companies and Hawaii to demand ANOTHER bailout, but seeing as how we don't get a say in whether bailouts occur in the first place, I don't consider it my responsibility.
Bailing out airlines won't do shit because people won't fly anymore. Might have said this earlier in the thread, but what appeal is there to flying anymore, especially if you have to be poke and prodded while wearing a mask for the entirety of the flight? If airlines want to save themselves, they need to do it themselves. Here's what I'd do:
  • Offer peanuts
  • Extra leg room in economy class
  • Allow smoking and drinking on flights again.
  • You don't have to wear a mask if you don't want to.
The first airline to do that will be making bank.

Anyways, the current year Atheists seem to be mad that SCOTUS allowed churches to operate in California. Apparently, they were saying that singing, not socially distancing, and crowding into an enclosed building is bad...

Until the George Floyd funeral is brought up. I fucking swear I have not seen a bunch of hardcore Atheists that shit on religion scramble so fast to defend a Christan funeral service.

That is why I hate fucking progressives no fucking standards except double standards.

24 hours since the first vaccine, still alive, no real side effects besides small pain where they injected it and headache (though that may be the usual start of the week headache).
If you want to question why I took it, it's mainly for the small chance to go skiing this year (since we now need to get a shot for basic civil rights). It's retarded but fuck everything at this point.
How strong is the urge to buy an Office 365 subscription?
