I like Blue Mage where it is now tbh. It gives a lot of potential for doing old content in new and interesting ways. They just need to open more stuff up and maybe add in matchmaking and actual rewards (a daily BLU roulette would be sick).

Nyanners on a leash would probably be fine and the best FF14 content is usually stuff like NEST where you had one really good player carrying a bunch of casuals. Now that NEST is kill, a vtuber replacement would be perfect.

Late but all this talk about the second auditions reminds me of a Twitter account that went full schizo and was seething both before and during the EN debuts. Here's a screencap of them. Though I didn't screen caped their other post and looking back at it I should have. Where they're acting a bit suicidal and admitted to being 15 which Cover would even allow them in any way because of the age and the obvious schizo behavior.

Since a few people echoed the sentiment that they don't have the time to watch long stream and mostly play it in the background, allow me to take the opportunity to shill for Sister Claire. Comfy vibes, cute voices, and she speaks slow and clear enough that you can still hear and understand what she's saying even if it's running in the background while you're doing other things. And her new costume go along well with the feel of her content to boot.
I'd still prefer Sister Sara but for background stream, Sister Claire hit all the checkboxes.

I've been shilling Sister Claire for a while now, she really is one of the best Vtubers to watch/listen to after a long day at work.

I'm hard pressed to think of who could appear in Holostars EN. It would probably be some small name guys, as well established streamers/Youtubers such as Mandalore or Beaglerush most likely wouldn't want to start from square one, even if word of their career change would certainly spread fast. Twitch would probably be the place to look since most Youtube gaming content is geared towards news and reviews.

I can think of one who may be an interesting addition: Grim Beard, but again it's impossible to gauge interest.

IMO Cover will continue leaving open the possibility for Holostar EN, but probably not take the leap. Hololive is pretty much their bread and butter: female vtubers are a known quantity, their popularity is effectively baked in (especially in terms of Hololive vs. Nijisani and others for the average vtuber fan), and they have a baseline for expected monthly revenue thanks to superchat tracking. The latter especially isn't likely to last (market saturation will happen and the girls will eventually start cannibalizing each other's superchats and merch purchases), but for the moment Cover isn't likely to rock the boat or take leaps of faith.

Depending on their risk tolerance though we could see one or two Holostars, if just to serve as a guinea pig and gauge how open the EN market is to it. Sort of like the original Holostars, just better focused and with (ideally) better background support. There's definitely a market for it, but to my knowledge we don't have any good mainstream examples outside of Pewdiepie memes to really have an understanding of its limits.

The whole Coco thing has been given more attention on the subreddit than it honestly needs. Lots of spergs tripping over themselves as they give out their piece on why she deserves more. That's fine, and as expected of them. The particularly annoying ones though are those begging people to take action and actively blaming Cover for treating her like a clump of lint (though if that were true, they wouldn't have even bothered trying to help with the banlist in the first place). I understand the anger, I understand that this dead red horse is being beaten for far too long now, I understand that Cover's management is difficult to fathom on a good day and seemingly composed of chimps on a bad one, and I get that seeing a woman cry on-stream triggered that particular white knight node that everyone has naturally ingrained in their brain. I trust Cover's judgment enough to not let in any trannies or shizos. Out of all things in Hololive, politics and gender are one of the definite things they never talk about, and if some Twitter troon gets into Hololive and tries to stink up the place, Cover will probably give them the boot. Just hoping none of the new members are the type to start drama and in-fighting. Hell, I hope there's some in-fighting between the indies and Vshojo.

I wonder if Twomad is actually going to apply. He joked about joining Hololive around half a year ago. Doubt Cover would actually hire him.

I do agree, actually. I don't think it's the right time to be expanding their talent pool, but they must want to maximize off of the current EN success. Even after auditions close, which will be about a month or so from now, it'll still be several more months after that before debuts, so, we got time. Cover has a lot of issues to sort out.

Above all I trust them to make good picks, as they so far have. They don't have to be "better" than Gen 1 or even equal, good quality chuubas are always appreciated. We've speculated more than enough about who might apply, who might be a good choice, worst cases and etc but chances are 99% of our guesses are going to be wrong and they will pick someone competent but lesser known.

This, there's plenty in the application form which is nothing more than a trap to help weed out the crazies and troons. For example prior streaming and content creation is emphasized throughout and they explictly ask for portfolios; none of the TBA crowd are getting through because, funnily enough, they have never produced a single damn thing.

It's also now a running bet on when VShojo implodes because it's not impossible Nyanners is chosen this time around. Depending on how Gen 2 shakes out and who is picked up you might just see enough jealousy-induced rage to finally warrant a community watch thread.

I almost hope they pick Nyanners just for that, though if they do, she'd better be hiding something good like Senzawa was. Which she could be, since she somehow makes her current group work (though that's probably just the view counts). Not because I care particularly about pure seiso idol image, but because a potential admixture of her current fans and Hololive's "community" would bring new levels of cancer upon us.

Hope Coco is in on the selection process like she was the 1st time because they really struck gold with the first 5. More or less managed to duck all the autism/retarded choices and select solid talent members.
