Chantal is used to absolutely forcing men to pay attention to her (she unashamedly admits neither Bibi or Peetz was attracted or interested in her and she strong-armed them both into it). KarateJoe's behavior would weird out most people and leave them feeling like he might show up at their door with a knife one day... but Chantal eats it up. I think that's the hilarious thing about Chantal of the last ten-plus years: she's essentially had to beg her last two long-term relationships into dating her. Peetz is the really funny one considering she looks at him as well beneath her now but when they were friends living together, and working together, she had to constantly plead him to date her until he finally gave in.
YouTube is a double-edged sword for Chantal. It puts her on a platform where some randos might find her desirable (despite the fact they're typically weirdos like Karate Joe) but it also exposes her to the areas she's most vulnerable and insecure and that's the fact she's a 450 lbs monster.
But there's also a part of Chantal who is completely delusional and actually believes she's attractive and anyone who doesn't think so is probably ugly and fat.
It's really a fucked up brain she's operating with, let me tell you.
