Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh dies at 70

Conservative talk show radio host and Republican party icon Rush Limbaugh has died. He was 70 years old.

His wife Kathryn announced his passing on his radio show Wednesday, saying Limbaugh died earlier this morning.

“Rush will forever be the greatest of all time,” she said.

Limbaugh had been battling advanced lung cancer since February.

Back in October, Limbaugh provided this somber update on his show: “You know, I wake up every day and thank God that I did. I go to bed every night praying I’m gonna wake up. I don’t know how many of you do that, those of you who are not sick, those of you who are not facing something like I and countless other millions are.”

Former President Donald Trump awarded Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom during his most recent State of the Union address

This appearance only a few days after his he revealed his diagnosis on his show.

“I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with this, but the upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer,” Limbaugh said in February.

“The Rush Limbaugh Show” first aired in 1988.

I've never known who he was all this time to be honest with you. Cancer sucks though, rip. 2021 is starting off strong with so many celebrity deaths.

Never was a fan of Rush, but the fact that some people celebrate this is absolutely disgusting, and really shows what kind of people they are.

p.s same with the people celebrating that he had cancer and wished that he'd die ASAP around Jan 2020, literally deranged lol
lol get rekt

good riddance to a big homo

I'm going to resist the urge to bully the living shit out of some of you, but I will say that if you're getting weepy-eyed over the death of some old man that you did not know, and who also likely hated you, then you seriously need to man the fuck up. He wasn't your friend, I get that he said things you though were "heckin based" but that does not mean you had any sort of relationship. He was a boomer, and it is ALWAYS FUNNY when a boomer dies.

inb4 "muh morality," "muh howd u feel," and other spooks

Man this hits hard. Rush was one of the first political entertainers I actually followed when I started to care about politics and even though my own beliefs diverged from his as I grew older, the man was always good for a few laughs. You could never accuse him of not loving his job and that upbeat attitude was reflected every minute he was on air. There will never be another one like him.

Somebody defaced his wiki.

From future president/vice president DeSantis:

It's a revealing thing about who is offering condolensces online. A tweet is a hollow thing but politicians like Trump, Trump jr., DeSantis, Cruz, Jim Jordan, Boebert, McEnany, are on the ball, but the usuals like McConnell and Romney aren't. Even snake Haley knows she has to pretend like she liked Rush and put out a tweet.

Every time I see just how disgustingly crass Twitter (and the left) can be, it simply reinforces my policy of no personal social media. "Rest in Piss," really? I knew the moment I heard he passed, the lunatics would be running the social media asylum and the grave dancing would be off the hook.

Rush was a master of his craft whether you loved him or hated him. Personally, I loved the way he would prognosticate what the left was going to do or say in regard to any event. Without fail, he'd be spot on in his predictions of lies, hypocrisy and memory holing. He knew exactly what they would do before they even did it.

His bluster and swagger were all part of his well-crafted act and I was always able to overlook those as such. But his insight into the political world we live in today was his true value to anyone that followed him.

RIP Rush, the world will be a lesser place without you.

I wanted him to die on December 31 just so his gravestone would say (whatever year he was born) - 2020, it would look nicer than 2021. Is that deranged?

Have you seen the McCain and RBG threads?
Rush was a private citizen who decided to take an active role as a commentator to politics. McCain and RBG were members of the government in actively political roles, who decided to die in office and bitterly spit upon the oaths they swore in service to their country. It seems pretty clear cut to me on why shoveling dirt on McCain's rotting corpse and giving respect to Rush are entirely different things. I wouldn't spit so hard on John Oliver if he died a painful, slow, and horrific death, I would only mock him slightly and then pray that he sees the light in his death.

Not really a fan of him but did listen to alot of his show. Big F. Was more sad when the true king of AM radio Art Bell died.
Edit: Also sad to think that Seth MacFarlane is probably the only person in popular culture who will treat this with a shred of decency.
