Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh dies at 70

Conservative talk show radio host and Republican party icon Rush Limbaugh has died. He was 70 years old.

His wife Kathryn announced his passing on his radio show Wednesday, saying Limbaugh died earlier this morning.

“Rush will forever be the greatest of all time,” she said.

Limbaugh had been battling advanced lung cancer since February.

Back in October, Limbaugh provided this somber update on his show: “You know, I wake up every day and thank God that I did. I go to bed every night praying I’m gonna wake up. I don’t know how many of you do that, those of you who are not sick, those of you who are not facing something like I and countless other millions are.”

Former President Donald Trump awarded Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom during his most recent State of the Union address

This appearance only a few days after his he revealed his diagnosis on his show.

“I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with this, but the upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer,” Limbaugh said in February.

“The Rush Limbaugh Show” first aired in 1988.

I can't say that I listened to his show. The only I listen to the radio is in my woodshop and I usually have ear protection in all the time, so having it on is pretty much a waste of electricity. I know the dude was a straight up conservative Messiah to many, so hats off to him for his long career. R.I.P.

People have been saying for so long that Rush is overdue to keel over any day now, that it feels weird now that it has actually happened. I actually expected Rush to make it to 80 or 85.
Obama smokes cigarettes, or at least he did while President. That's why he looks so bad now.View attachment 1928357
To be fair, looking like they aged 20 years in 8 is par for the course with most US presidents. Just look at Bill Clinton when he entered office vs. when he left. Trump is the only one I've seen who escaped that, though that might be because he already looked kinda rough to begin with.

My boomer dad was a huge Rush fan, I'd still tune in from time to time on the way to work and such since he was usually a pretty entertaining listen even if his brand of boomercon politics lost its luster to me over the years. With all the shit he got into I'm also surprised he lasted this long, at one point I was relatively sure he'd die of something before Obama's term was up. I stopped being phased by grave dancing years ago even if it's still personally tasteless to me (and I thought the RBG crab raving was pretty distasteful), I will say of all the big names that've gotten the crab rave lately he'd probably enjoy it the most, he thrived on making libs seethe at his very existence.

Actually I kind of liked the guy 20-30 years ago.... but I was always an AM talk radio kind of autist. The most interesting I can tell you about the him is that he ate so many handfuls of oxycontin that it made him almost completely deaf... and that was a long time ago.... 20 years or so. Kudos to anyone who can stay on the air and not sound like a retard after losing their hearing. He was owning libtards and being a secret degenerate before it was cool. Press F .... >presses F

I had a feeling as of late he wasn't doing well with the constant chemo therapy rounds and recovery I heard he was going through, but I didn't quite expect this so soon.
