Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Honestly, the only one that I'm looking forward to out of this batch is Project Triangle.

And it's kind of funny that Aonuma is aware of the hype that Zelda remake is getting.

I got a bad feeling BOTW2 is going to be another cross gen thing with whatever the Switch's successor is, Nintendo keeps doing that with Zelda ala Twilight Princess and Breath of The Wild 1 with the only exception over the last 15 years being Skyward Sword.

Which means it's probably quite a ways away, I had hoped for a 2021 release, sad!

This is a very unpopular opinion, but; drop the voice acting, drop the timeline. All it did was draw attention to the fact that what little story there was was subpar. (Also change the Rito to be more like WW, but that is even less realistic).

Frankly, the only time writing in Zelda wowed me was at the end of WW.
Hiring well known VAs was their biggest mistake tbh. It was meh in Brawl but once Xander Mobus, Kate Higgins, Ali Hills, etc came along shit became just.....blah.

Yeah this whole thing was pretty lukewarm for the wait, but I guess it pays to be a weeb cause I dig the classic JRPGs and the Project triangle thing and there's some novelty in having an old famicom detective VN that's never been available in english before. Hopefully Zelda will just get its own direct down the line like Mario did for its anniversary.

Mario's Anniversary direct was also shit though.

How are these games

Azure Lane Crosswave (is it pervy because.....ew)
Ninja Gaiden (is it similar to samurai warriors hack n slash? I saw Ayane from doa in it)
Jake Hunter (yeah I know it's not in the Direct but someone said this game is another detective visual novel game)

Maybe I'm just too old for this video game shit anymore. I remember in 2018 I thought Switch was going to have so much potential but all it's been is a fucking port and anime waifu dump.

I'm literally bored with *everything* at this point. I don't like cinematic garbage, but I'm sick of Monster Hunter, Xenoblade and Squarenix shit too.
I think it should be best to take a break from videogames once in a while.

Personally I don't mind the ports considering the handheld/portable factor similar to how the PSP and Vita did in the past, and I don't buy a system based on future projects with no definite release dates.

Azure Lane Crosswave has poor user receptions, the game is described as having too lengthy visual novel parts and the battles are pretty much braindead. It's generally a good idea to avoid Compile Heart games unless they're well below the 10 bucks range and even then it's not a guarantee they won't be a waste of your time. Trillion was the sole thing I liked from CH, the company can have cool ideas but their executions are subpar most of the time.

Ninja Gaiden is more something alike of a Devil May Cry if you were to make a simple comparison. Sigma are the alternate Playstation versions that have mixed reception among the fanbase, I recall seeing a picture of a large list of the changes between the OG Ninja Gaiden and the Sigma versions, and Sigma 2 was the less favorable of the bunch. Sigma 2 Plus was released on Vita with the blood back and some improvements (at the cost of unstable framerate due of the handheld hardware), but I have no idea if the Collection on Switch and other platforms is based on that version. But since the official eshop page claims
Online multiplayer is not available for the “TAG MISSIONS” in NINJA GAIDEN Σ2.
I do assume it's the Vita version which also had no multiplayer available either. The japanese eshop has also a separate release rated Cero D which is censored alongside of the normal version of the Collection. Do not take my word for granted however.

No idea about Jake Hunter on Switch. I'm only familiar with the old PS1 games.

As others have said, it's a lot more like Devil May Cry, in fact I believe Ninja Gaiden started development in 2002 and was directly inspired by Devil May Cry.

However play Ninja Gaiden Black on the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 version of Ninja Gaiden II if you can, the Sigma versions are inferior, although it remains to be seen whether these new ports will be better.

It's some serious bullshit that at least Ninja Gaiden Black isn't being included though and I can only assume it's due to a personal grudge against Itagaki, why are Japanese published so anal retentive sometimes?

Ninja Gaiden Black is nothing less than one of the greatest 3D action games of all time and deserves a modern digital re-release.

Yeah, so many of them are Square though so be prepared to be asked to pay way too much and deal with what might be dodgey retranslations or ports/updates.

I also wonder if Detective Club was delayed in order to get the translations done. It was announced in Japan an oddly long time ago (over a year) and I was wondering what took the porting team so long to get them made.

The new Mario Golf definitely looks inferior to Toadstool Tour.

Why is the Gamecube era to some degree Nintendo's peak* and why weren't people able to better appreciate the 'Cube at the time?

*Mario Odyssey is better than Sunshine and BOTW is better than Twilight Princess though.

The only ones that stood out for me was Legend of Mana's Remaster, SaGa Frontier Remaster and Triangle Strategy. I love the Octopath inspired graphics it has.

Mario Golf and Samurai Warriors for me. The only thing I actually wanted was SMT and that didn't even get a mention. I like my Switch a lot and mainly just play ports anyways so more ports doesnt really bum me out.

That being said they picked a terrible Zelda game in my opinion. I would really have liked a Zelda collection with LttP, OoT, Oracles, etc.

Also did anyone else think that the Fall Guys announcement is about 6 months late? That game lost all of its userbase to Among Us I feel like.

I would like to try that SaGA Frontier Remaster since that game was notoriously rushed and content wasn't implemented and game played needed to get balanced.

YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!

RAGE!

I forgot to mention the Pirate section in Majoras Mask too.

That's how you know I'm serious cause Majoras Mask is my favorite and I still say that part was dumb.

Edit: Shit I forgot the Gerudo Fortress was a stealth section too. Jesus Christ maybe I am wrong and bullshit stealth sections are just a staple of 3D Zelda.
