That's probably what it is. The Gneech even called him out on it, and Lou defended himself by saying "It was still open when I tweeted!" Yeah, doubtful.
Ha. Gneech is probably pissed that Lou reminded the world about what was surely a tough time in his life that he's since moved on from. Don't drag everyone down to your level, Lou.
I suppose I'm in the minority, but I don't believe Lou has been faking these emails. For one thing, I doubt he has the imagination or initiative to carry it off (c'mon, "I hope she unlives" is gold--do you really think Lou could have come up with that?). More importantly, though, I believe Lou has an image of himself as a good person and has built up a universe of rationalizations and justifications that allow him to act as he does while continuing to see himself as moral. This is why you see him deploy phrases like "I always try to be open" and "Nothing is ever required": he uses them to convince himself that he really does need to rely on donations and there is nothing he can do to change that. In his mind, he will never be able to find work because transphobia and beetus and whatever else, so there's no point in even looking.
Maybe the best example of this is when people say "You don't pay rent" and he answers "Yes, but I've never asked anyone for help with rent," as though that answers the criticism that he begs for money for essentials and then uses it to buy iPads and video games and furry titty art. After all, he could just lie about the rent, and say that his mother charges him X amount of money to stay there every month, and then he's got an even better case for needing money. We don't know how much his mother feeds him, but we know he does buy food for himself, so even if his mother does cook for him every day he can still convince himself that "I need money for food." But he never lies about the rent, because he can't convince himself that he pays rent when he knows he doesn't, and
knowingly lying about it would require him to admit to himself that he's a scammer.
Likewise, although it's certainly within Lou's character to whine about hate mail for pitybux, for him to make the affirmative decision that he's actually going to manufacture hate mail to himself is, I believe, a bridge he's not willing to cross. In his mind, he is not a liar or a scammer or any of the awful things people say about him, and his detractors are all just hateful transphobes who pick on him solely because they enjoy being bullies and for no other reason. For him to knowingly lie about receiving hate mail he never got would be tantamount to admitting that his detractors have a point, and he could never do that.
, lots of them even, but I think (hope?) most of us here do have a life and therefore have better, much better things to do than send Lardo Tardo anonymous hate mail.
