Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

The only reason I can see for any sniffing around is to make sure the guy isn’t some con artist who is going to get a pile of money with a fraudulent fundraiser. Looking for “wrong opinions” is absurd

He was smart enough to realize publicity was more valuable than the $600 he first got and positioning himself as a fundraiser for a kids hospital increased that exponentially. As long as all the money donated (after the $600 beer fund) went to the hospital there’s no problem.

Why people would vemo some college student at a football game the money instead of just a straight donation to the hospital (that’s tax deductible) is what mystifies me.
Why do people donate money to supermarket charity drives instead of directly to the hospital? It’s easier if it’s right there. Also I assume most of the donations are low enough that the tax deduction isn’t worth it (and if they’re college students they likely don’t even have to pay taxes because they don’t make enough money).

Random dead baby shit

Apparently Sarah's second daughter (I wonder if it's the one she wants to not know what a condom is at 12+ years old?) looks like her dead inside-out baby. I know what she's going for but now I have the mental image that her daughter looks like Tesuo in the end of Akira.

I wonder how many of these kids are still alive

At least one of the parents told them to stop using pics of her kid

Another dead trisomy baby

He proved statistics wrong... by living less than 3 hours

A bit off topic, but the abortion sperging thread in Deep Thoughts might as well be incels posting their L's, Jesus christ. Over the past few days I've seen dudes in there try to claim everything from no women enjoy anal to birth control is horrible and women shouldn't take it to vaginal dryness is extremely rare and only caused by lack of arousal.

They get mad when people call them incels but they post shit that makes it painfully obvious they know dick all about women. It's also wild seeing dudes who cheer in A&H over shit like a boat full of migrants overturning suddenly being bleeding hearts for embryos. Fun stuff.

Anyway, here's another dead baby story.

I don't know anything about that condition, but knowing how much these chicks like to embellish or straight up lie about their kids capabilities I'm gonna press X on him proving doctors wrong

From their FB page. Mostly posted because here he looks like he could be related to fucking Luna. At least his giant head wasn't due to his parents negligence though.

There's no way that baby was 31 weeks. I've seen hundreds of preterm babies born, and that one actually looks pretty typical for an 18-22 weeker. Also, at 31 weeks there's the option to intubate or the kid could even have spontaneous respiration, and I imagine most fundies would want everything done to prolong the baby's life, but maybe since she chose induction care and comfort would always be their choice.
Hi! I was an NICU nurse for many years, and I absolutely agree that this was no where near 31 weeks. 18 to 22 weeks, but I would say this is about a 20 week fetus. The bar for resuscitation keeps going lower, but neonatologist would not even try to resuscitate any preemie less than 23 weeks and at least 500 grams (1 pound 2 oz), regardless of the parents choice. As a NICU nurse I have agonized over doing pointless and painful procedures to infants whose parents cared more about what they wanted than the suffering of their infant.
My late grandmother was a nurse many many years ago, she told me in the 40's and 50's it was a common practice for OB's to cut the cord on a "deformed" baby without clamping it on the baby's end. The infant would be taken to another room where it would quickly bleed out via the umbilical arteries and vein. The parents were just told the baby was born dead. Considering the miserable, pain filled life some of these children would suffer, that actually seems more kind to the infant than having a child living in pain and misery. Sorry if that seems harsh.
If anyone has any NICU/ birth defect/ congenital anomaly questions, I would be happy to answer, I've seen just about everything.

Damn. The bleeding out thing is pretty fucked up, but I can see how back in the day it might have been the most humane thing to do in some cases.

What do you think is the most fucked up situation you've dealt with? Or the most insane parents? Any kooky shit like parents demanding their anencephaly baby be revived or blaming medical staff for their kids being fucked up/dying when they had nothing to do with it?

Also, what are some of the worst, weirdest conditions you've seen?

The most fucked up parents are the ones who keep an infant on life support despite there being no possible “cure”. They say the baby is alive because it’s God’s will, but God didn’t invent ventilators and feeding tubes. Even worse, they waltz in to visit, completely ignoring the infant who is in agony just to be touched, dress them up for pictures for asspats, then leave. The nurses have to watch the infant in pain. They say God is going to grant a miracle and save their baby, sure there have been people who suddenly have cancer go into remission, etc. But Never has a baby grown a new brain, kidneys, liver or any other organ
I have seen some awful deformities of infants that otherwise would have been normal, caused by amniotic banding. Basically strings of amniotic sac material wrap around body parts and they either die and fall off, or become grossly deformed.
There is a condition called gastroschisis, where the abdominal organs are outside of the body. They take them to surgery and put as much back in as possible, but often there is not enough skin and tissue to contain all the organs. They put in what they can, then they place the organs ( mostly bowel) in a bag that looks like those cake frosting bags, called a silo. The bag is hung above the infant and every day or two the surgeon comes in and squeezes it pushing more organs back in and stitches across the top of the silo. Basically stretching the skin of the abdomen like what you see with tissue expanders. It’s weird to see guts hanging in a bag.
Another condition that is horrific is hydtops fetalis, the babies are so swollen they hardly look human.
Babies born without a brain or major parts of the brain can survive quite awhile with a functioning brain stem and machines. They absolutely feel pain, as that is from the brain stem. When you put your hand on a hot stove, you remove it by a reflex from the brain stem, before your brain even registers the pain, Luna is suffering like hell, it makes me angry

Can they actually feel pain the same way someone with a brain would, or do they just have the reflex reactions? I though any signals an anencephaly baby gets just ultimately go nowhere and bounce around in its empty head until it seizes.

Gastroschisis sounds like a more treatable version of limb body wall complex. I think I saw a documentary about a baby with it once, I remember the guts in a plastic bag thing.

Everything I've heard and seen about amniotic banding us pretty gnarly and nightmare inducing. Definitely not the precious perfect miracle the parents insist they are.

And yeah it seems like they always cite god as to why their hopeless case should be hooked up to machines, like bitch in biblical times your kid would've died ages ago. The parents only dressing them up for pictures and leaving sounds like Tinslees mom.

Any particularly delusional parents? Like Kayli's mom insisting their kids are telepathic and shit?

I think we might need a prolifer thread because all the stupid shit you see the A&H crowd saying alone would be great fodder.

As far as pain goes they really are not sure. There are definitely signs that the body registers pain from the brain stem, how much pain is perceived by the infant is still unclear. I can tell you that they show signs of pain, whenever doing a painful procedure you can see the heart rate and blood pressure increase, or do the opposite and the heart rate plummets into severe bradycardia. It sucks to be the one inserting IV's and blood draws knowing it's both pointless, and you sincerely hope that they don't process pain.
I read about Tinsley. I remember there being discussions as to parts of her body dying and decaying, many people day did not think it was possible. It absolutely is possible! When the body begins to shut down, blood circulation to the extremities slows and even stops. Reading that fingers, toes, nose are rotting was probably going on . I once took care of in infant in septic shock. He lost circulation to his legs, and the tip of his nose. After several doses of antibiotics, and vasopressors some circulation came back, but the tip of his nose was narcotic and had to be removed. Even worse his left leg from below mid thigh had died, and was mummified, until he was strong enough for it to be amputated, my fear was accidentally hitting it against the radiant warmer and it breaking off. It was horrific and he actually lived.
The sad thing about amniotic banding is they usually have a normal brain as long as the head and neck were not constricted.
So many crazy parents, I don't know where to begin. The worst are those that insist everything be done, but rarely bother to visit. When they do show up they demand food trays, hotel vouchers, and cab vouchers. They preach to you thier baby is going to be the miracle, and they totally ignore you when you tell them that. you just got their pain under control and they are resting. Instead of waiting awhile, they insist you wake the baby up and handle them because they want to hold them when convenient for them.
Many of those who let their baby suffer for months, when the time comes and the baby is actually dying, they can't bother to come and hold them. I spent many hours holding a dying infant because they are human beings and deserve to be held rather than die in a bed.
The drug babies are the hardest, not the most interesting as defects, but otherwise perfectly healthy babies n o much pain from withdrawal, in spite of regular doses of morphine. They cry for hours on end. After 12 hours I couldn't take it anymore. Yet those parents will visit so high on drugs and somehow despite losing any other children, they are still given a chance. It is shaken baby syndrome waiting to happen if they are not dumped off on relatives first

I’ve seen gastroschisis on a TV hospital documentary more than once. I get the impression the kids live totally normal lives once their bowel is back inside their body.

Please help a Brit out - what is A&H?
Actually only a few actually go on to have reasonably normal lives. The Bowes in a human are twisted and convoluted in a way that allows them to get perfusion, and also be able to function. When the bowels are squeezed in, and the abdomen closed, many parts of bowel die as they are not getting enough perfusion. They usually go through many surgeries, at the least have a colostomy or two. If too much bowel is lost, the slowly die of short gut syndrome and the resulting liver failure. It's sad because they can live for a couple years, dying slowly

I did wonder whether the bowel would be a mess. That’s grim.

Parents waltzing in for a visit and demand a dying child be disturbed and woken because they bothered to show up is disgusting. So are addicts showing up high as fuck to visit a child suffering due to their drug use.

Have you read about Luna in here? I’d be curious on any experience you’ve had with a infant like her...or babies you might end up caring for thanks to home births going wrong.

Luna would be a healthy little girl had her mom not insisted on a home birth in an infallible hot tub, yet she insisted on doing it again with baby 2. Now Luna gets magic woo hands waved above her instead of actual pain or seizure medication. The idea she might be able to feel pain makes me feel sick to my stomach.

Actually I have read about Luna here on the farms. First in this thread and there has recently been a thread on her mother ( appropriately u deserve horrorcow). I have many questions regarding Luna. First there are many religions that believe in home birth and women from the church are the midwives. Reading that the mom thought a chiropractor ( not a doctor at all imo) was good enough to do I well newborn check ups, I would like to know if the midwives at Luna's birth were actual medically trained and state licensed. I read Luna never cried, all infants are assessed at birth at one and five minutes and given an APGAR score. ( a third at ten minutes if the first two are poor) One of the criteria is crying. I would love to know what Luna' s APGAR scores were. If the midwives were not state licensed, I blame the mother, it was her responsibility to ensure she had qualified people when planning her home birth.
My other big question regarding Luna is if she is a DNR?? ( dying is a natural process, rib breaking CPR is not). At some point the pressure on Luna's brain stem is going to cause it to herniate, and she will stop breathing. I feel for those nurses and doctors if they are forced to do CPR on her. I have performed CPR on babies like Luna, it is absolutely traumatic, you keep hoping that it won't work and the kid can finally be out of pain, but often CPR plus code meds work and you get the heartbeat back, it's a nightmare because they have further brain damage from the code, they may code several times before the final one.
I read what I could about Luna, but this is a thread with many cases so forgive me if those questions were answered already and I missed the information.

The thread here on the farms on Luna's mom and Luna is fairly new. It's under The Empathic Nutritionist/Robyn Grogitsky-Ramirez and is appropriately under the horrorcow tag, in case anyone is interested, in case anyone here was not aware of it.

Jesus christ. So does that mean Tinslee is possibly getting brain damage in addition to broken ribs every time she has to be revived? :(

Other than the parents who we know are awful like Luna's mom and Tinslee's mom, do you get the feeling other parents posted here would be assholes who rarely visit their kids and shit? Like all the fundies I post. Also, i don't know if you've read the thread (it was locked about a year ago after both of them finally died), but do you have any thoughts on Gwen Hartley and the shit she did to her gremlins?

It's so sad to see kids survive to live short, pain-filled lives because their parents are too selfish or in denial to have an early induction or late term abortion.

There's really no point posting about abortion in the deep thoughts thread because yes, it's full of guys who don't get it/are incels. I think it's so awful what the state of third term abortion is like in the US. Having to have a shitty clinic with a leaking roof because you can't afford anywhere better and have to stay hidden due to psychos who claim they're pro life murdering the empathetic and kind staff who bravely work there in spite of the danger is terrible.

It's no wonder there's only a tiny handful of people in the entire country who do those procedures. From what I've seen the patients are almost always parents who desperately want their babies but know they're incompatible with life and don't want them to suffer, like people here have said. It's not at all what pro-lifers put out about butchering babies and women who can't be assed to be parents, use contraception, or get an early abortion.

Seeing those two babies in the skeleton costumes (Sydney and Charlie) gave me such intense Hooligan vibes but at least they're being treated better and get medication and proper food.

Yeah while Gwen was nowhere near as bad as Luna's mom is with medical neglect I still feel like she still did some pretty shitty things like never getting Lola a feeding tube, cuddling her when she had shingles (and was surprised when Lola got chicken pox), dragging them everywhere during cold and flu season, and denying them proper pain meds. As fucked up as the Hartleys were they at least deserved to be more comfortable if they were going to be kept alive.

Has Gwen really done much other than post some old pics after her spuds died? I'd be highly surprised if she hasn't slipped into Sydney and Charlie's moms DMs, or the DMs of any other mom with fucked up kids like that.

You forgot the worst of all: dressing Lola up as Scrappy Doo

It depends on the severity of the condition and whether it's associated with other genetic disorders. An umbilical hernia, which a huge percentage of babies have, is technically a mild case of gastroschisis. I first heard of the condition, by technical name, when the place I worked at got a letter from a former co-worker who had a baby with a pretty severe case, although this baby was able to have a normal life after several surgeries. IIRC, they were able to place her exposed bowel back where it belonged, and did a couple other procedures to strengthen her abdominal wall.

The one person I have known personally who was born with amniotic band syndrome is in his 40s, and he has one arm that's normal and the other one has an elbow joint with a thing attached to it that looks like a finger. Otherwise, he's completely mentally and physically normal.
