TikTok

These youth didn't necessarily need or want a sanitized internet the corporate machine more or less just followed the money.

No, I agree with you. I don't know if you recall, but in 2004, we had pretty much considered material racism an extinct issue; I told a black guy I knew that he should sit at the back of the bus when were going on our grad trip and he told me to go fuck myself and then we shared headphones while watching a movie on an 5th gen ipod (in retrospect, perhaps a little insensitive, but no one really cared because again--it was considered a largely solved issue). Perhaps the predicament we find ourselves in now had already started back then; I think The GAP was selling shirts with Che Guvera's face on it by then. This really ties into the rest of the progressives' "long march through the institutions"; I don't think the internet becoming normie-fied was the primary cause of that push, but I certainly think it was a casualty.

You mentioned that it had alot to do with low iq normies getting on the internet which i can agree with but the true social media, focused grouped, pander fest didn't really start untill the mid 2000's.

Right, and the first iphone came out in 2007. My phone before that was a Motorola RAZR; it took like pictures in like a 480x240 resolution. There was no app store at this time. Facebook had just been unveiled to the public, having been only for university and high school students with a required school e-mail to sign up until late 2006. Digg was busy sinking itself. Reddit was hoping Ron Paul would win the Presidency. Obama was busy pulling the race card to beat Hillary.

There's your mid-2000s fag-ification of the internet for you.

The truth of the matter is that you will never really be able to take the shitlord out of the pipes.

I agree, but it offends my sense of propriety that the internet has been centralized to such a degree and what they've done with that centralization is nothing short of dictatorial. There was once a time where Google editorializing their search results would have caused major regulatory concerns. At the risk of politisperging here, Western countries are supposed to be able to withstand some level of fringe culture without needing to apply pressure on the levers of power to silence it; those were the rules during the 80s and 90s when the Left was putting crucifixes in jars of urine and calling it art, making obscene pornography and pumping explicit lyrics into your children's ears while the moral majority got outraged: that they can do it because of 'freedom of speech'..

Then, once the pendulum swings the other way, they want to shut the door behind them and say that there's "no place in society for hate", where hate is defined as something as nebulous as saying "all lives matter" or whatever the boomer sentiment of the day is. I regard this as an existential threat to our way of life. Sadly, that defiant, 'edgy', leftist media machine that gave us such societally corrosive bullshit as Will & Grace and Marilyn Manson under the auspices of 'freedom of speech' has convinced the majority of the country that freedom of speech no longer takes priority over not making people uncomfortable. So yeah, I can be a shitlord here, but I've watched as platforms first booted off the blatantly offensive and worked their way through the center-right and the moderates, then they went after 'misinformation'; they took sites off search engines, payment processors started banning people and groups, Amazon refused to sell certain books because 'muh racism', Twitter banned a sitting President, DNS registrars, CDN and DDOS providers all throughout the Western World started erasing people from the known internet and governments started hunting down and prosecuting people for shitposts and memes, all while "normal people" cheer it on. I think the situation is scarier than you're giving it credit for.

Sites that really allow that kind of content will always be smaller and more nimble to navigate around those that try to pull them off the network while their userbase and those that think like them will continue in perpetuity to make strafing runs at the white towers and high walls of the normi-net.

Sure, but I think it's undeniably becoming more difficult. I'm sure Null will tell you that this site is a whole lot more difficult to keep online and safe than it was when it started.

Personally i still enjoy taking the piss and im personally still having fun

Well, that's just it. All I was trying to do was have fun, but the new moral busy-bodies won't let you, and it's actually kind of tragic that so many 'normal' people agree with the direction we're headed. Don't get me wrong, I try not to take it all too seriously, but I want the freedom to say what I want to who I want without some obnoxiously retarded third party trying to ruin my life.

Has anybody noticed this new witch trend seemingly grow out of nowhere? I randomly came across a video of some gay black guy putting a curse on Trump a few months ago and now there are countless magic tiktok compilations on youtube, it's bizarre. These Harry Potter LARPers make Chris Chan look normal.
Nah its just people who are trying to convince themselves they are more special then others.

>If only you knew how bad things really are

Peek into Turkish tiktok, the peak of cringe in this world in my frank opinion.

Film's name is "Recep İvedik 1", it has gone on for 6 movies now, with a 7th likely coming as it still rakes in dosh.
