Unfortunately, it appears in this case it's exhaustion an mental fatigue from being on the verge of moving internationally. It's also compounded by the fact she must have to have some amount of equipment still out at any time if she wants to stream at all. And who knows how much leeway she's got right now in terms of how she's able to meet her contractual streaming requirements.

Here's hoping she makes it through okay.

In most indie's cases? I honestly can't say for sure. Subathons have been a thing for a very long time in the livestreaming industry and isn't just unique to vtubers. Most times it's because they want to reach some goal and a certain amount of engagement helps get them there but I honestly think sometimes their goals are unrealistic. I know of one or two who are hosting like 12 hour subathons with really ridiculous goal rewards...like bitch, you really think you're gonna get 300 subs when only 50 people watch you? They're not made of money and they can't all drop sub bombs. Shit, I do marathon streams for free and that's just because I'm fucking bored. Kyuotto's debut stream was 12 hours long and that's just because the girl didn't wanna stop until she was dead tired and nearly passed out.
