Part of this makes me hope that they don't let anyone but staff interact with the girls. Regardless of how engrained people working on Hololive Alternate might be. Exceptions being the actual girl in question's illustrator and rigger. Though I feel like it's pretty much an inevitability regardless that Cover will have some disgruntled employee that might say something wrong in a drunken hate-fueled bender sooner or later.

Edit: Also on an unrelated note, the first Cinderella Switch of the year has been announced with FestivaLuna. I'm honestly really glad they went with this combination, I don't mind SubaLuna, but I have a weak spot for Luna and Matsuri.

I'm still not sure why Mizuryu Kei is blasting on Twitter like he's doing right now, but this isn't the first time I've seen a manga artist just suddenly drop everything related to their contracted work for unexplained reasons. The Goblin Slayer spinoff, Dai Katana, had a manga adaptation that was originally illustrated by some dude named Takashi Minakuchi. After only a few chapters of serialization though, the artist simply vanished; he removed all mention of Goblin Slayer on his twitter and deleted every bit of official and fanart he has done of the series, replacing them with FGO art instead. No forewarning whatsoever. There is still no given explanation up to this day, but the Dai Katana manga was left in hiatus for several months until they finally got a new artist on board to start the whole thing fresh.

What's especially odd is that by all indications, the LN author, the main manga artist, and the artist for GS: Year One are quite friendly with each other. If it's the result of bad blood between Minakuchi and any one of them, it would have to be something extraordinary (or extraordinarily petty) to result in such a split.

So I remembered something, which kind of point a hole in Mizuryu's reasoning, and kind of strengthen the gachikoi/creep theory
He said that he has been working on the manga for 6 month, but Cover is too demanding, which some suggested as they asking for rewriting. However..

If you remember the manga panel leak someone posted here after the Holo Alt announcement, there was a leak back from early-mid December of an Ayame manga, that some suggested as real because of the similarity to the Goblin Slayer manga author's art style (I also asked someone familiar with the title and he confirmed the similarity as well).

Now, here's the thing. That panel is not what a rough draft for a manga is, nor what a panel from a finished manga you proposed to the publisher. Its clean, finished, and yet has blank text bubbles. Instead of a draft, that panels belong to a manga ready to be edited and typeset by the Editors for publishing, basically what a finished manga ready for publication look like.

If we assumed that Mizuryu worked at the same pace as the Goblin Slayer manga author is, he should have finished his manuscript by now, especially since he said he's been working on it for 6 months. This, I believe, is a proof that Cover is "demanding" on the production side, which made me suspect more about the gachikoi/creep theory about him

I don't think its right to accuse everyone who has a falling out with cover as being a creep or gachi. It seems unlikely that an artist would need to interact with the talents at all and would be aware of that.

I think if this is covers first project of this nature it is possible they made mistakes, though putting them on blast on twitter is very unprofessional.

Hmm, how I see it is, the event or request that set him off doesn't matter, as I think he's just autistic and so anything could've set him off. The creep/gachikoi angle doesn't matter as he'd not get close enough for that to matter and it's much more likely a work related "grievance". In his previous tweets not included in the screenshot, he mentions suspending the sale on Fanza also. My best guess is that in preparation for the upcoming holoalt manga, cover requested that he take down all the r18 holo works that he's selling on various sites and he has a meltdown over it.
Since holoalt is a big mediamix project, the manga being cancelled hopefully won't be affecting the production of anything else, but this is still pretty annoying to happen just days after it had been announced.
