Fix that giraffe neck. Also, his right peck is migrating into his arm pit. Looks a little swole. And not in a good way. Might wanna get checked for breast cancer there. When this fails it will be because racists. Not because of poor marketing, fugly all over the place designs and freakshow genderspecial characters that appeal to a very small number of people that typically don't play many games. If it gets released at all.

Whygirl there doesn't know the first thing about design, as evidenced by how she let the whole character design team run riot with zero cohesion.

These characters are not appealing. Good design is important because these are faces you are going to be seeing all throughout your playthrough. Characters can still dress in quirky or unique attire without looking like hot messes. The designs have to be on the same page and not have wildly different palettes and anatomies. Ashlie and Anoki don't even look like the same species.

I think I get what's going on here. These aren't designed to be characters in a game so much as they are OCs. Everyone brought their DONUT STEELS to the table and since everyone soooo talented and asspats each others work all day long it got approved and if you don't like it you are racist, homophobic and transphobic.

It explains why Emhari and Arihi are low effort trannies, Catherine is a terrifying hot mess with cottage cheese laden stretch marks hanging out for all the world to see and why Inaya is an autistic, fat, tumblr nosed, hairy armed transwoman of color with a stim blog.

But do imagine this and be sad. Many many years from now when people look back to see what was popular on the internet they will be sucked into the black hole that is tumblr art. An entire era marred by this hideous garbage being touted as diverse and beautiful. Know it all art professors will probably say "subverted beauty standards blah blah blah celebration of POC and gender diversity". And we'll all be gone so we can't tell them all how ugly it really was.

Nutshack aside... POCs are hugely over represented in indie games as are troons and their confusingly presenting ilk. It's insane how much #woke RPG Maker and Ren'Py trash you have to wade through now just to find a decent indie title. And they want more?

I used to feel the indie scene would be really great. But I cringe now when searching for games and see that label. Unless it's from Asia it's usually some tumblr tier trashfire filled with ugly art and cringey stories. And while I may not be LGBTMAYBERRYRFD myself, I find it hard to believe that the average LGBT person looks, dresses or acts like that. It's gone from trying to gain acceptance to becoming a circus clown. This type of representation only sells to ugly tumblr stereotypes and the people who enjoy laughing at them.

I kind of feel like a lot of this queerness going on in these spaces is not unlike the "Lesbian for attention" scene girls from the previous decade. I think there's a lot of attraction to the weirdo pervy hugbox. But I also feel like "look at me!" is being shouted all the time by people who have sad lives and need the attention badly. As long as you stay pre-op or just call yourself non-binary your trooning out and genderspecialism can be easily reversed. So when the trend is over and you're too old and tired to play pretend you can go back to being normal. Let's see how many of these non-binary demigirls with he/him pronouns are going to be doing this in 10-20 years time.

Of course maybe I'm being optimistic. This is the future. Clown World is here to stay.

You can find good indie games still. Ding Dong suggested going through Twitter (particularly his since he retweets that stuff), I'd say watching AlphaBetaGamer will usually help you find quite a few good games.
