It really is such a bizarre aspect of one of these "perpetually online, perpetually offended" old school ess jay dubya types that they have to respond and "bravely stand up for themselves against da trolls!" regardless of how bad it makes them look, or how dumb of a hill they are choosing to die on.
The thing about this kind of thing is that Labelle could very easily have avoided the entire situation and swept it under the rug, maintaining her reputation. Take, as an example, the Brendan Blaber situation. Brendan Blaber, better known as "JelloApocalypse", better known as "that faggot who made like one good series and won't shut up about the election", had a very similar fetish porn incident. In short, there was an account that posted scat shit (no pun intended) with a style that a number of Farms users (and several others) identified as especially similar to Jello's, so now everybody thinks it's him.
To my knowledge, Jello has made no public statements on the matter, nor has anybody received outright confirmation outside of "Their art looks alike" and similar autism, and as a result, the actual staying power of accusing JelloApocalypse of having a scat fetish is tenuous to retarded at best, and because Jello has not said anything publicly on the matter, even if it is true, nobody fucking cares. It's not what's important, it's just something else they can use to ridicule him, whether or not it is true. He might have a gross weird fetish, whatever.
If this were the case for Labelle, the potential is "She used a photo of a literal infant as reference material for gross fetish art. That's fucked up and potentially illegal." So denying it or ignoring it are her best options, because if she acknowledges it and and accepts it, that is directly tying this shit to her where the initial tie is tenuous in nature. She made a stand, in my opinion, because in spending all of her time being offended, she believes she's being oh so brave and will receive support.
In making such a stand out of the situation, Labelle has not only painted a huge fucking target on her back, but she has no way to come out of this that makes her look good outside of literal pedophiles and people within her same mindset (read: pedos in denial).
As far as I can see the only proof that was there before she admitted it was bizarrely plausible autism.
She could have come out of it with little to no losses, and yet she felt the need to smear the entire effort as political, for some reason, so now she has to confront every aspect of it, and stand alone to the internet slaughterhouse.
