It seems Watame will not play the G route as I expected. Considering how she cry throughout the entire game, this come as no surprise. The game theme about family and home seems to relate to her so much that she chose to end it the way she want (as Toby intended). Undertale is a great game, really, despite its obnoxious fandom.

Are we sure Watame isnt just mentally unstable? I dont think I have ever seen anyone cry so much playing such a milktoast game.

I've grown to respect Undertale for what it is and can understand how someone like Watame might get super emotional over it. Personally though I would rather staple my balls together than go through fucking Hotlands again while the fat gay lizard makes her obnoxious "i'm DR ROBOTNIK LOOKIN and I LOVE ANIME" comments that stop you multiple times in every room.

Watamelon has been on record saying her childhood was... not easy. Certain themes in the game just hit her hard.

Also obligatory reminder Japanese people don't have good track records getting help with their issues, so give the goat a break.

Watame's just always been emotional, not so much sensitive, but like emotional. Undertale's ending was set up so you have a lot of teary reunions and they hit a lot of soft spots for her. Sheep just cries, we Watamates just give her love and she eventually lets it out. Undertale itself really works on people like her.

I guess what I'm saying is she's emotional, but she is able to handle herself.

That is probably the better word for it. An unstable person is quite a bit different, and more than likely either wouldn't have the responsibility to forego the other route and let her fanbase know, or would have gone off the rails in tears for much lesser reasons. While I don't really play into this narrative, Kiara is a better example of being closer to the unstable side of being emotional.

Watame's reactions seem born from a particular root cause, and the triggers for her (yes, triggers do actually exist outside of the watered down self-diagnoses from Twitter morons) are those that deal mostly in familial bonds and abandonment. From what has been mentioned about her childhood, this is kind of understandable as a reaction because the game preys on that kind of particular pressure point. Now I get what @Takodachi is saying about it being a milktoast game. It kind of is to me as well. While I liked it, I never really got that engaged with it on an emotional level.

That's reassuring to hear. I was wondering how she was doing, since I don't really follow her and it's been pages since the last mention. Honestly wish her all the best.
