The worst part? This solitary confinement isn't even for a positive test! It's if one of their classmates tests positive. Because contact tracing is a good enough reason for a parent to ignore their pre-teen or elementary school child for 14 days. Keep in mind, in a lot of prisons, solitary confinement is considered cruel and unusual. But these motherfuckers are so scared that their child MIGHT get them sick if they MIGHT have COVID; OR worse yet just betray their own offspring no questions asked when the government told them to, that this even sounded like a good idea.

Parents get sick from their children bringing all kinds of germs into the house. They're around other children and are close to the ground and typically want to immediately hug you once they see you after 8 hours of school. Big deal, it happens, put your big girl panties on and swallow a benadryl to move on with your life. If you didn't want to be around germs that could potentially make you sick then you shouldn't have had kids (and shouldn't have pets either).

The Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans is asking Catholics to avoid the recently-approved Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, which it says is “morally compromised” by its “extensive use of abortion-derived cell lines.”

In a statement on Friday, the archdiocese noted that while deciding whether to receive the vaccine is an individual choice, that “the latest vaccine from Janssen/Johnson & Johnson is morally compromised as it uses the abortion-derived cell line in development and production of the vaccine as well as the testing.”

The Archdiocese of New Orleans’ statement comes after leaders of the USCCB and leaders from other religious organizations sent a letter to the commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last spring regarding ethical concerns over the COVID-19 vaccines.

“We are aware that, among the dozens of vaccines currently in development, some are being produced using old cell lines that were created from the cells of aborted babies,” the letter read. “For example, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has a substantial contract from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and is working on a vaccine that is being produced using one of these ethically problematic cell lines.”

so yeah, here in finland things are definitely starting to go down the drain. weird three-week mini lockdown that hasn't even started yet but they're already saying it "might not be enough" and a curfew is being planned. last year was pretty chill compared to a lot of the rest of the world but i was retarded in thinking that would last. i guess at least they can't easily force people to wear masks out of nowhere.

though, i was browsing the basic bitch normie finnish news site for more warning signs or laughable content and saw this article about how a mall in helsinki has adopted this creepy thing where their employees will seek out maskless people and push hand sanitizer and a box of masks at their faces hoping to create an awkward enough situation and guilt trip them into wearing one.

do they do this the same way elsewhere? i prefer to mind my own business when i'm at a store so having mr. mask handout here coming at me wouldn't make for a very pleasant experience. thank god i don't live there. also, i know no one gives a fuck about a backwater europoor country but i needed to let off a bit of steam. i've just been lurking here, but this thread has been very good for my sanity.

What is the problem? During an active pandemic people are handing out free masks to help prevent disease. Honest question regardless of what you think of the situation should people who buy into what the government says bad and or creepy because they are trying to help the situation? Personally the people against the whole thing rub me the wrong way because in the event they are actually wrong does cause harm to people. You can argue but muh economics ect, ect... But everything seems pretty normal in the sense nobody is starving like all the doomsayers crying about that concept months and months ago. Businesses are hanging on because of bailouts and partially because who wants to buy said businesses during the pandemic so with some minor losses everything seems to be holding and expectedley should hold until enough vaccines get passed out. Suck it up.

The levels of panic and dooming about the nothingburger virus are kinda comical, even if the lockdowns aren't. It also shows how crazy people went at the beginning with fear, which I think was probably a huge motivator for all this bullshit we've had. For comparison, 700 pages back from the current page (~1500) puts you in April 2020. So, the amount people posted in this thread in March was roughly equal to the amount of posts in this thread post-March till now. Crazy.

I was a doomer until I saw the cruise ship numbers. The data was clear. Covid was about 2% fatal and heavily skewed towards older people.

i mean, sure, the vast majority of people in my country are the type to just do what they're told, and if they wear a mask to feel safe or to help the situation i'm not going to take that away from them as long as they aren't screeching about it to others (which isn't really a thing here). if they don't have one on hand for whatever reason, i'm sure they'll appreciate mr. mask handout man looking out for them.

what i find creepy is how they've gone ahead and declared their mall as this "you must use a mask, even if we can't legally force you to" zone and the way it's been branded as "civic duty" in general. of course i haven't been there personally, so i don't know exactly how insistent they are with it, but i'd imagine anyone who chooses not to wear a mask shopping there would find the idea of a guy coming for you and putting you on the spot a little disturbing, even if it isn't malicious in nature. i feel like that should only be okay in a very, very extreme situation for a short period of time.

i can kind of see where you're coming from, but i just don't think the situation warrants what they're doing, guilt tripping others into doing something they choose not to do. i don't wear a mask, because i find it uncomfortable, but i'm not getting into people's faces either. if someone feels like i'm endangering them with my presence, they can most likely wait like five seconds to avoid being too near to me. that has never happened, though. no one where i live seems to actually give a shit. except the guy running this mall in question, i guess.
