Dr. Kathy Rumer, DO / "The Butcher of Ardmore" / Rumer Gender Surgery / Rumer Cosmetic Surgery / Delaware Valley Aesthetics, PLLC - Sex-reassignment surgeon notorious for botched surgeries, constantly suing and being sued

The yelp reviews are frightening and hint that the doctor might have worse surgical skills than somebody who learned to do surgeries through YouTube tutorials:

I strongly urge anyone looking to get top surgery to find another doctor. Dr. Rumer almost gave my partner the wrong kind of surgery but luckily he spotted the error on the forms right before the operation. The pre op appointments were hasty, rushed, and sloppy, and she dismissed all of his questions. Then, her staff brushed him off when he told them he suspected an infection in his incision site, which has led to permanent loss of sensation on one side. She is a sloppy, careless surgeon and should not be trusted with this lifelong decision!

If I could give zero I would. Dr. Rumer and her staff are very unprofessional and her patient care is unethical. I had a surgery with her 6 months ago and I'm still experiencing complications due to her errors during surgery. Around a month after the surgery I started feeling uncomfortable pain inside the surgery area. It turned out Dr. Rumer didn't take out the sutures and there were couple still inside me where they shouldn't be. Another doctor had to take them out. Also since the surgery I've been experiencing bleeding when I use the bathroom. I've tried contacting Dr. Rumer's office multiple times, but they're awful at getting back to their patients. One thing I wish I did differently was to pay more attention to those negative reviews as my experience with her was as negative as those reviews. Also, cosmetically I'm not happy with my results either. I don't want what to happened to me happen to anyone else. Please do your research. There are better surgeon out there who will do a better job and care about their patients as well.

Rumer failed to remove all the erectile tissue at what was once the base of this troon's penis. So whenever he gets aroused, it bulges outward. :cryblood:
This is considered a really amateur mistake apparently. And she refused to do a revision, lol.

JFC, it's like a reverse fleshy windsock falcon punched by H.P. Lovecraft himself.

Looks like this woman has a collection of bad medical practice and medical errors, so...
Why she still have a medical licence? I know zero about american law, btw.
I know quite a bit about US medical malpractice but this has to be a bizarre area to say the least because your are trying to create a Frankenstein vagina out of penis tissue - so wtf constitute malpractice? I mean you are volunteering to destroy healthy functioning organs to replace them with the approximation of others for cosmetic and psychological reasons - not physical need.

Even when it comes to more black and white med-mal issues, like being able to piss and not need diapers you’re in weird territory because you’re trading down in the physical department. I’d guess incontinence is one of the few things that might have grounds to try and claim for quality of life reasons but even that is iffy since you basically signed off on butchering your urethra for cosmetic reasons. I’d bet only death or coma could get you into medmalpratice territory and out of mediation.

It’s obvious from the actual legal docs in this thread that your are pretty much locked into mediation if you want this surgery and sign-off on the risks it involved. It’s not a surgery to improve or correct any physical bodily function, actually the opposite - it maims and destroys functioning so it has the opposite goal of most surgeries. The only thing this surgery is supposed to correct is the supposed psychological turmoil of gender dysphoria, but if you want to claim it didn’t even achieve that you kick rocks because you certainly waived away all your rights to complain about that by agreeing to irreversible cosmetic surgery.

It’s got to be a great possible practice area for doctors because there is almost no grounds they can sue, and they are locked into mediation before even undergoing the procedure. The doctor’s ass is supremely covered for GRS and any bad result, unlike a. general surgeon performing normal operations to repair or save a life, is mere opinion.

Yeah but even then. You'd think she'd be cancelled by *them*? :\
They're insane and mindlessly defend anyone who validates their insanity. They scream down anyone mutilated by this butcher as well. Even when they don't outright join the 41% they hate themselves and those in their community so much they'd rather cover up for a butcher than risk driving away the quacks who are willing to do cock chops.

The problem with prosecuting any medical malpractice case (or any kind of malpractice against a professional such as a lawyer) is you have to argue not that the defendant acted merely negligently, but that they specifically fell short of professional standards. While these are, on paper, supposed to be actually much higher than what is expected of a normal tortfeasor, the difficulty is it requires actual testimony from a professional that knows the field in question and is willing to testify against other practitioners in that field that according to his own medical knowledge, the defendant failed to act according to professional standards.

The defendant has to find another professional willing to testify that the defendant acted according to those standards.

A mere adverse result isn't enough, especially when there's probably a foot high stack of disclaimers the patient had to sign before the surgery would happen, guaranteeing no specific result and disclosing that negative outcomes do occur. This stack of papers takes precedence over whatever nonsense the quack stated orally, or testimonials on their website from supposedly satisfied patients (I believe they often get these testimonials right after the surgery before the anesthesia wears off).

The problem with expert testimony in this field is there are effectively no objective professional standards for this crap. And there are serious and potentially career-ending political implications for a doctor who chose to take up testifying in med-mal cases against this kind of surgeon.

I do think eventually there will be a cottage industry of litigating malpractice against these butchers, but it will require a critical mass of potential plaintiffs, some fancy ambulance chasing, and enough business that at least a few doctors can basically give up their practices to be full-time expert witnesses in these cases.

I was reading a case review on case law.findlaw.com and a doctor wouldn’t even outright say another doctor violated medical ethics by using saliva as lube to manipulate a patient’s penis (it was a criminal case but his wording was that he personally wouldn’t do it, not that it was medically wrong). I can’t imagine another stinkditch butcher going on the stand and establishing any kind of standards that could then be used against them.
