Is that a degree as such? Not to be a jack-ass trying to make a hierarchy or anything, it's just that Kirby specified it was a trade school so I'd think that would be more of a diploma or internship or something. I can't really imagine a university giving a degree in horticulture? Maybe I just haven't been exposed to that kind of thing, but degrees are generally more theoretical/written knowledge whereas something like horticulture would be hands-on and practical. Maybe it's a BSc, I don't know. Someone help me here.
There is no such thing as a Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture (Unless the college is a rather dubious one). There is technically something called a Horticultural Science Degree or a Horticultural Arts Degree which deals with horticulture on a scientific and more laboratory based education; but earning that degree would mean that our Lenny boy over here passed calculus, biology and chemistry classes.
More than likely it took Lenny boy 4 years to earn a 2 year Horticulture Certification, and as far as the rigor of the trade school certification, let's just put it this way... The guy with the degree in Horticultural Science is working and developing vegetable seeds for Monsanto (Mon-santo, that's actually pretty funny Null) while the guy with the Horticultural Certificate is the one planting the seeds and making sure the seeds get the right amount of water.
