Fansubs only exist and thrive because they're essentially smuggler though, like how probation let criminal organizations create speakeasies, the market only exist because there's a real clear demand for it and lack of proper channel to get said product. Once there's a real outlet, and a convenient one at boot, there's really no reason for you to go to a strip mall and buy a CD of pirated anime with god knows how bad the sub quality or risking torrenting virus downloading at some shady, ads riddled site, as opposed to just opening Crunchyroll for that same anime while you sat on your couch. It's not Anime consumer being complacent. it's simply the market at work.Notice how complacent anime and manga consumers have become? Notice how nobody fansubs anymore?
Bet she got a better offer somewhere else. Not necessarily vtuber related.Gibara said that she will be graduating from Nijisanji after her 2nd anniversary in a member stream. Archives will be deleted

I'd bet that Reine has/has access to a place in Tokyo already that could accommodate ID/EN/Pochi-sensei.heck just rent a house for a month and put them together with ID and make it a big thing. then repeat that after a few months. would also give them the opportunity to spend some time with their JP senpais to break some ice etc.

but sites like gogoanime still there to pirate, collect, and share all anime fansubs or official under one convenient place. Since it have the edge of not having to wait for official license to show certain show, they still thrive even against service like Netflix and Crunchyroll. Again, it's just pure market competition, and there's nothing wrong with that (except for breaking Japanese copyright law, i guess)
You can find two groups doing the same thing, Erai-raws and SubsPlease. Erai has their own site that's more convenient to use than nyaa, but they'll just stop updating without notice, explanation, or apology sometimes.I haven't been keeping up recently in Anime, but I heard fansubs are back after Horriblesubs folded? Or has another group sprung up to replace Horrible?
Fansubbing died because it was more faster to just rip streaming sites that get the subs in mere hours, they still exist because crunchy doesn't translate movies, but even in that niche Netflix is putting their footFansubs only exist and thrive because they're essentially smuggler though, like how probation let criminal organizations create speakeasies, the market only exist because there's a real clear demand for it and lack of proper channel to get said product. ENma is probably female, wouldnt surprise me after the Banpire shitstorm from last year.
also, Sora's new 3D model pisses me off more than it should.
WHAT HAPPENED TO HER BLUE EYES
WHY BROWN
#NOTMYSORA
OK, full disclosure: when someone posted AZKi's original outfit that I didn't even know existed, I looked up her and Sora. I didn't actually know about the brown eyes even a week ago.Takodachi showing how uncultured they are in Sora lore.
I don't know about the car, but I kinda want to fuck that Korg. It's pronounced more like "tsy-rna". The song is (obviously) about "Black Two" i.e. black Volkswagen Golf Mk2, an undeniable status of wealth and dominance.
And now I want to watch a stream where vtubers are trying to pronounce tongue twisters from different languages.
Also you mentioning Balkans reminded me that I used to travel there every couple of years, but it's not happening again very soon.
The sad state of the mainstream has classically been down to distribution in the decentralized population of North America. In order to bother sending something to every corner of the continent, you needed something that would appeal to absolutely everyone over that space: dumb, watered-down bullshit. Coincidentally, dumb, watered down bullshit can also appeal to other cultures, so the American mainstream was able to manage a lot of influence. In places with a more centralized population, you could put out niche weirdness and just wait for people to line up at one store or convention booth to get it.Japanese business almost always chooses to work with foreign markets through various sorts of proxies--either proxies they own as subsidiaries (like the car companies) or through licensing corporations and/or other forms of distribution middle-men. The latter is precisely why the Western markets for Japanese otaku-centric goods have been poisoned by political activists mistranslating things and claiming it is "localization." The political infection of everything is why there's this push to troon Vtubing out. I wouldn't put it past Google, for example, to eventually ban Japanese Vtubers for whatever made-up reason to force Western audiences to watch the politically correct troon Vtubers. If you can't control the supply at the source, then control all the means of getting that supply to the Western market. Simple yet effective strategy and so far it has been working. Notice how complacent anime and manga consumers have become? Notice how nobody fansubs anymore?
As for high reward, only for the corporations, not for the actual fans. Mainstream success demands the sell-out. This has been discussed elsewhere by, I believe, Gravemind and Mister O. So, if you want a degraded version that is watered-down, bargain-basement, accessible-to-the-masses Hololive, yeah, mainstreaming and zero gatekeeping is for you. I think I speak for a lot of people here, though, when I say that most people would rather this stay niche.
It's been like that since she began the horror arc.GUYS?
NO MENTION OF HOLOLIVEView attachment 1967182
Oh, nice catch. She's actually rigging her own model in Live2D right now on stream. It's interesting seeing this in action.
I'm curious, with the Gibara thing, it got me thinking. How do people here feel about deleting archives of streams that everyone, especially these companies, seem to do when a talent retires/graduates?
The public streams are one thing, but what about the members-only content? Unless I'm mistaken Monoe's entire MO archive was lost to the void after her execution last month; I'd gamble all of the Holos and Nijis have people autistically cataloging every stream (God's work boys, keep it up) but there are indies and smaller groups who's community work simply vanishes forever when they end their career.I'm curious, with the Gibara thing, it got me thinking. Personally, I would rather them leave them up and just deal with blocking/ignoring people calling them by their past names or setting up a nightbot that bans all mentions of it if they decide to reincarnate. I understand the circumstances of someone like Aloe and the other 2 holostars that graduated last year. Aloe had almost no content that could easily be archived before mass deletion (BTW AloeCh. did recently reach 200k subs after being at 170k for the longest time. Just a fun fact.) and the holostars aren't as big as the girls so that may not seem like a big deal to many as say like Pekora or Korone. Now if the girls themselves wish for them to be deleted then, while I would disagree with their decision because I would still think that its terrible for fans to lose so much content, I would still respect it. However, if the girls leave it up to the company, I think that mass deletion of every stream would cause a mass uproar for a majority of fans that would just like to go back to re-watch old streams for fun until the girls themselves decide to comeback and get rediscovered or if they are done and want to move on from streaming, then fans can still enjoy the content. There will always be subbed clips of their greatest moments, but I don't think it compares to just sitting back and enjoying the whole stream. They've grown so large now and all over the world, that it may be hard to actually mass delete everything without setting off a massive shit storm.
Yes I too watch streams to read the chatI like her voice and personality. Probably would watch more of her if she does more stuff in Youtube because Twitch chat is fucking cancer with all the POG & emote spams.
IIRC, someone was able to download a bunch of Monoe's VODs just before it got deleted.The public streams are one thing, but what about the members-only content? Unless I'm mistaken Monoe's entire MO archive was lost to the void after her execution last month;
Eh, all boils down to the streamer and how modded their chat is. Ina's chat interactions are usually pretty chill and Ame's has been surprisingly tame since she tard-wrangled them hard post-Witcher stream. All chats are absolute cancer and being able to wrangle it in any platform is one of a streamer's most important skills

Everything on the Internet is ephemeral and meant to be forgotten. Unless you want something to go away, then it will stay up forever. How do people here feel about deleting archives of streams that everyone, especially these companies, seem to do when a talent retires/graduates?
