From the studies I've seen, and please don't quote me on this, but life is pure hell after you start hormone treatment and therapy. Like it actually just destroys you for like a year. And doctors often don't do followup or assign a therapist to help you through it. I knew someone I think was 14 that got assigned HRT with no oversight and became actually psychotic because of it and they had no help. Just given the HRT and tossed into the wild.

The problem with social movements is that they become an industry unto themselves, which means they can't quit once the objective is reached and they need to find something new to crusade against. Once people have a taste of that righteousness (and especially, a taste of the unearned benefits such as donations, preferential treatment, etc) they don't want to give it up. It's addictive. I think that a lot of these movements had a good point -- initially. But then that point is achieved and now they look for something else to grab, and it only spirals further into unreasonableness. When you complain about it, they assume you want to undo the whole movement. "Oh, you don't think lesbians should be bullied into liking dick? Well I guess you want to tie gay people to the back of your truck and drive them through Main Street until they die, huh?" It's a total shitshow.

I've got no particular love for pageants, but you've got to admit the women who do them at the highest levels level are like pro athletes. Most would never allow images released without a fully polished, heavily styled look. Meanwhile this doughy Punch and Judy can't even be bothered to do his hair or find an angle that isn't all nostril and chin.

There was actually a transgender Miss Universe contestant in 2018 - Angela Ponce/Miss Spain. I wonder whether he realises that.

There is a LOT of context the pozzed out newapapers miss (the troon lobby has its claws deep in South Korea, and bolstered by the fact that Korean society is so misogynistic it would rather be pro troon than pro women).

To begin with, the troon got granted medical leave to go to a Thai butcher. He seemed to believe getting a medical leave means his transition was greenlit by the military, and once he returned, he would be able to serve in the female forces (which is basically considered a separate branch altogether and largely ignored).

Instead, his SRS results were classified as a Tier 3 disability and made him unfit for service. Apparently he was warned about this possibility prior to his trip.

Compulsory national service is a controversial and deeply unliked aspect in Korea and some men actively self harm to get out of service. Naturally, Tier 3 is rather high, it is the equivalent of missing a limb or severe depression that might trigger a Full Metal Jacket reenactment.

So, nothing got solved.

Women serving in the armed forces in Korea is still a joke for a troon punchline.

Fuckwits wanting to escape national service now know they have the option to troon out, ignoring the official opinion that a stinkditch is considered a severe disability.
