I somehow doubt it's even that dramatic. It's barely a wound and no bruising swelling. She probably just scratches herself with whatever digits she's got left when her aide looks away. (Or in my mental movie she spends her time making shivs from soap and toiletpaper and hides them in her no-touch casts.) I guess Aus is cool w/ just keeping her in hospice-esque care forever? Will she age out of a peds system when she hits mid-twenties? I know nothing about Aussie medical systems.

A little bit OT but does anyone else get the vibe that all the DID systems you see on tumblr and the rise of self diagnosis are the new wave of munchies? Every time I see someone begging for money because they're a "black disabled enby" makes me immediately doubt them bc it comes off exactly how the ladies in this thread do. Anyone predict how these kids are gonna grow up? After either faking the disorder or being a hypochondriac and thinking they have it because of normal things humans do.

And then the FFVII house saga took it to a hilarious next level. When the 19 year old transgender alcoholic is the sane responsible one, you know you have reached true internet nirvana. That and Shay, the obese lesbian who made up a son and shit all over a gay dude's apartment she was crashing at.

What's funny is those people mostly kept their fucked up lives to themselves and it's only when one of their IRL friends got burned and took to livejournal that we all got to gawk and laugh. That shit is almost quaint compared to what people now post loudly and proudly on their own social media of their own volition. It's just that now there's so goddamned many of them it's hard to have a real stand-out Shay (and now we have to hide the pointing and laughing because words are violence or whatever.)

I haven't been over to them in like a year, but the didcringe/systemscringe subreddits used to be full of people in the comments arguing that the cringe-accused person's system (which included gerard way, a disabled black autistic pansexual jewish woman with vitiligo, a sentient cardboard box, the soul of their deceased pet golden retriever, and an edgy teen boy named Elliot) was totally valid because their own system includes five characters from their favorite TV show, an unpleasant smell, an anorexic teenager who tries to kill "the host" for being fat, whoever is the current most popular TikToker, a blind transgender disabled asexual Muslim Inuit mother of 13, and also an edgy teen boy named Elliot.

Everything old is new again. I remember when gay teens on livejournal were faking DID in the late 1990s. (I'm guessing at the date, but I feel like the trend was contemporaneous to Hamster Dance.)

Chronicallyrara is back! Here she is expressing her wish to die despite her Doctor giving her years to live and her having a daughter. She really is disgusting.

She did a 1 hour and 20 minutes long live where she claims her "transitioning" TikTok was caused by an "under the table death with dignity" which sounded exactly like an opiate OD to me. There is so much tea to spill here I do not know where to start.
