Does the original Space Jam hold up?

New Lola design doesn't look great but using the original Lola design in the new movie isn't gonna offer anything more than what the last 2 decades of Lola rule 34 has. If you are horny for Lola you are already covered.

A scene was cut that had Pepe la Pew(the only scene he was in) in which he was beat up and berated for being a perv...because they were afraid they would offend people by having him in the film at all.

Scene sounded a bit too on the nose anyway, probably for the best.

So they flanderized a character to virtue signal about consent, but then realized they were going to get screeched at for daring to have him in the movie in the first place, so they're cutting it out.

Clown world.

God, this movie is going to eat....

They're taking their little shared WB universe way too seriously to the point that it's gone past cringe. Also chances are they'll use "Amazon Lola" to explain "where she's been the last 20+ years" despite that the character has been getting used in Looney Tunes shit for years. Goes to show just how far up their own asses they are.

Also that's Pepe's whole fucking bit. He's a skirt chasing goof who isn't even french. Take that away and you might as well shit on everyone.

They're using the logic that everyone loved how the the Lego Movies are referential to WB properties, so why not extend it to Looney Tunes?

And to be fair Merry Melodies wasn't above just doing pop culture references. They made a whole short of it.

But this had simple charm to it, albeit far from an animation masterpiece. It also came from a time when Hollywood was worth a modicum of respect but that's a topic for another thread.

They're going to use that to explain how Lola went from being a sexy love interest for Bugs in the first movie to a Strong Flatchested Frumpy Lesbian Womyn Who Don't Need No Man

Saddly that's probably a good thing. It's best not to have him there at all if they just wanted to shit on the character in the movie.

Probably both.

Bugs: "Lola where you been all these years? Why haven't you called me back?!" (Movie's writers ignoring she's been used regularly by WB in LT shit for the past 14 years)

Lola: "Oh I've been hanging with my peeps Wonder Woman and the Amazons where they taught me that I don't need no man and I don't need to live in your shadow!" (Movie's writers ignoring how often Wonder Woman and the Amazons get seduced by foreign men)

Honestly it would've been easy to include him in the movie without offending dangerhairs or needing to be preachy. Just have him as the bartender flirt with his cat gf or Catwoman and have her slice him into ribbons with her claws a la Tom and Jerry for comedic effect. Then feature him later on the court fighting off the evil team with stink bombs or something. Would still be terrible humor from a terrible movie, but it wouldn't even be that hard to implement him for moronic woke sensibilities that need to die already. But of course the idiots had to turn it into an opportunity to virtue signal.

The same guy who sound Pepe la Pew was a rapist also tried to claim Speedy Gonzalez was offensive (again despite years ago many Hispanics coming out and making clear that they love Speedy Gonzalez).
Luckily Gabriel Iglesias (who is voicing the character in the movie) came to his defense. But what's funny about the tweet he calls out it by calling it (rightfully so) cancel culture. I found funny since the media been trying to say cancel culture doesn't exist and it's just a thing conservatives are making up because they lost the election. But I'm pretty sure Fluffy here isn't conservative. I don't think the media will be able to to hold this narrative for as long as they think.

The very few political takes I've seen from Fluffy (which aren't a whole lot and like most celebrities I go out of my way to avoid) are pretty left-y, though he at least seems genuine in his feelings, unlike other Latinos talking out their ass near constantly (not gonna namedrop George Lopez-- fuck!).

You know, now that you mention it, ever since DC/WB has tried to shoehorn feminist bullshit on Wonder Woman, she's more (if not wholly) defined by the dudes she surrounds herself with. Heck, even her second movie was about not wanting to let go of Chris Pine's ghost dick!

Oh no I'm aware he's a left leaning(granted not to bad compare to other celebrities). I was just pointing out he's not a conservative and how that ruins the news media attempts lately to portray cancel culture as not being real and are just conservatives being butthurt about losing the election.
