Torba has regularly turned over data to the FBI, who turn it over to the ADL and SPLC, without a warrant.

Twitter at least ask for a warrant (or a court order in a civil case).

tbh this seems like free advertising for Gab..not this thread but just in general this really will only add to the inFamy of the site.

"no such thing as bad press"...instead of this site becoming irrelevant with a declining user base based around Qanon/politics..its the site attacked by Tranny hackers as a clone/alternative to Twitter. Twitter is the home of trans crazy. Couple this along with the super straight movement...Gab will seem like the anti-trans social media site which is bound to grow in popularity. i had a gab account briefly before i stopped all social media and reading the 'threats' make me LOL. Don't fed post/be retarded online and internet watchers can't really do to much. Suck it tranny jannies. The feds watch this site for signs as seen by the one dude that Null had to give info over to the feds about. When I was on gab I didnt really notice any ability to private message maybe it was a pro feature but who the fuck pays to be on social media?

Idk this whole thing seems like a pro for Gab. They get tested real hard and have to actually build a security infrastructure. they also get free advertising from a group of people that is having a ground swell movement resistance happening against them. they also made a collage of user profile pictures. Oooh. scary.

he probably should have spent less time LARPing as a crusader online with his bizarre posts about Jesus (or whatever it was) and more time securing his site. It’s just a shame that we don’t have more level-headed and intelligent people standing up to challenge the social media giants, because now we’re left relying on guys like Torba.

Gab doesn't have any access to its users financials because of it being banned from payment processers. tbh the 'globohomo' agenda the world is being run by is overplaying its hand. It's forcing people to think outside the box and establish itself. This place along with many other platforms are still being operated despite a clear effort to deplatform. I really appreciate this place and hope it continues and Null is successful in his ventures in life. Instead of boiling the frog the collective has cranked the heat way to fast and normies are becoming aware of their shrinking ability to freely think.

Except you're not left with Torba as your only option. He never was, nor will he ever be your only option. Half of the most recent posts on this thread have literally been talking about the superiority of the Fediverse as compared to "alt tech" platforms like Gab and Parler. Gab is built off of Mastodon right now, for fuck's sake!

The Fediverse, as a whole, is fucking massive with thousands of nodes for you to choose from (some of which have been curated for people new to the idea of federated social networking) and it has so much content that's generated by users throughout the fucking world. Because of the federated model, you're basically 100% immune to deplatforming of any kind since there's hundreds upon thousands of instances to choose from, all of which are able to communicate with one another (on paper). If you're so technically inclined, you can easily set up a Pleroma instance on a Raspberry Pi and federate with literally any instance you wish. Why then, would you want to herald a literal manchild and his incompetent InfoSec team as your only option when superior alternatives, backed by literal standards boards exist?

I know this thread is about Gab but I have a quick question about Epik.

The majority of Alt-Tech & Far Right sites have their domains registered with Epik because Epik rarely cucks to SJW activists and seize domains. Are there any good alternative domain registrars to Epik because I feel like it isn’t a good idea to put all eggs in one basket?

Feds can always touch you if they want to. Plenty of people got gitmoed and dindu nuffin illegal. If they want you they will take you and you can't do much to stop it. Depending on the country you're from posting on alt tech without 7 proxies could get you on a watch list and make your life difficult. 9/11 watch lists caught all sort of weirdos unrelated to terrorism.

Fediverse is a mess to navigate. It's a nice idea but it isn't refined enough yet. It reminds me a lot of IRC when compared to Discord. IRC is great but you need to know how to navigate it to get anything of value. Discord you click a link and you're immediately presented with the content you wanted. I hope to see Fediverse grow and become more user friendly.
