Williams is an elite (probably the best) liberal arts college in the country, located in western MA. There are approximately 2000 students there, mostly undergrad. So there was some party at one of the dorm houses which has about 29 people living in it. In the aftermath of the party, which had about 100 people at the time of being shut down, about 120 students thus far are "transitioning to remote study"—e.g. being kicked off campus. That's about 5% of the entire student population.Regarding the Wood house party and aftermath

Williams students, faculty and staff,
In the aftermath of the party at Wood House I want to share an informational update. As importantly, I also want to take this opportunity to reflect after an awful week for many of us.
Here are a few facts before I turn to broader thoughts about the situation:
Now I want to address the much more complex emotional and social dimensions of recent events.
- As of now, 120 students are transitioning to remote study as a result of the party. Others may be doing so simultaneously for unrelated reasons.
- Some of those who have come forward have since left campus, while others will depart soon.
- There were no positive Covid test results among the 1,042 results received yesterday (Saturday, March 6).
- We saw only one student positive test and one faculty/staff positive test all week. We will continue to update the dashboard daily, and will inform campus if we note any warning signs of community spread, regardless of source.
Last weekend’s party unleashed tremendous feeling. It shook many campus and community members’ sense of safety. It resulted in painful consequences for students who acknowledged their involvement. And it is requiring that we say temporary goodbyes to people we care about. Some individuals have reached out to tell me how mad they feel, including about my decisions.
To the students who have gone remote or are doing so: thank you for coming forward and accepting responsibility. I know it was difficult.
To students remaining on campus: many of you are experiencing significant loss as friends leave for the rest of the term. I expect you will miss them very much.
To those expressing anger: I know you feel frustrated. But on social media some of you have descended into derision, stereotyping and stigmatization. This must stop. The college has already imposed consequences. It is gratuitous and cruel to pile on.
To everyone: this is a moment for grace. If you feel angry, try to extend compassion toward the objects of your anger. If you feel grief, know that this grief is shared and that, whoever you are, you are valued here. And if you need help to get through the turmoil, please reach out. We have organized options for you and will continue to do so.
I know some at Williams do not agree with how I have handled this incident or the pandemic as a whole. We have done our best to create a campus environment in which students could return, study and safely spend time with friends. But the ways in which we have done so have asked a lot of everyone. As you recover from the emotional strain of this last week, please know that I am sending you my thoughts and care, wherever this message finds you.

That's how all of this is gunna end huh?I'm bittersweet on it if that's the case. It's good things are opening back up, but that just means everyone goes back to sleep to the real issues facing them.
Kill your parents and blame it on the vaccine.Well kiwis I got the vaccine. I would have faked it but the way they have it set up you just drive on in and never get out of the car so my parents were watching the entire time. I personally dont feel like the vaccine is dangerous or anything, otherwise the media would be pushing it as the end to the pandemic instead of moving the goalposts like they are now.
That said im still not happy my parents made me take it because I dont feel like I should have to get a shot to do normal person things lol. There are like 3 weeks until my next shot so if I am lucky I can move out by then.

He'll be lucky if he didn't die of an "accident" yet.
That's how all of this is gunna end huh?
Just one by one states opening up and it just fizzles out. No outrage or answers.
On a different note, something that caught my eye from the world of college clownery:

Don't stop now, what happened?LOL Williams college, tbh I have no idea what makes it so elite other than the ~65k per year price tag. It's in the boons on the VT/MA border where RT. 7 passes through, specifically in Williamstown (go figure), Massachusetts. There's nothing out there but poors, as the area is severely economically depressed. The only money in both north and south berkshire county is rich (*ahem JEWISH cough*) New Yorkers and Bostonians who get second homes there to do their fagging out. There's a liberal arts state school called MCLA in the next city over, but while Williamstown is at least quiet and picturesque, the city MCLA is in is quite the shithole of section 8 and abandoned infrastructure. Now there are a bunch of spics and niggers there too to supply heroin and cocaine to the locals.
If I had to guess I'd say the kids who instigated the party here were the super elite rich kids. There's a gross demographic mix at Williams (very diverse to have so many browns and asians in the middle of the New England woods) and a lot of scholarship recipients, but at the high end are arab princes and african dictator's kids. I suspect it would be the ultra rich brats who said fuck da police and threw the party. The letter from the principal or whatever reads just like I imagine it would.
I have a breddy funny personal story about a crazy bitch ho who went there that is also intersectional as fuck, but I'll spare you guys unless someone asks.
Remember this when deciding if your parents live with you in their old age or get to go to a retirement home. Tell them it's for their own good.Well kiwis I got the vaccine. If you want to be cynical: the age of the school, its endowment, and the network of individuals who go on from Williams into prestigious or powerful places in society. You could say the same thing about learning CS at MIT versus RIT. What they're paying for (theoretically) is the ability to put the name "Williams College" on their resumé. Harvard, for instance, basically all but admitted that when they didn't significantly slash tuition despite making everyone go virtual for a year and change.LOL Williams college, tbh I have no idea what makes it so elite other than the ~65k per year price tag.
That's how it is at most of the Ivy tier schools. I was friendly with a girl for a couple of years who came from SE Asia. She was chill, could hang with the guys, etc. Then another friend told me she was scared of her because it turns out her father is a general in her country that disappears people. Another friend once pointed out a Korean girl to me and said she was the scion of the branch of the family that owns Samsung, but that family was disowned for some weird internal family politics. Turns out rich kids just want to do what they want, like most normal college kids in all honesty but with the added wealth factor. If I had to guess I'd say the kids who instigated the party here were the super elite rich kids.
