If the riots and Chaz/Chop bullshit was anything to go by it was a little sample of what 'the revolution' would be like. "Even X the bullet!" just like the Bolsheviks and the Red Guard did to everyone else. Over the course of last year I could believe that all the chaos and destruction was allowed to happen, and that did make it frightening to go out anywhere once restrictions started being lifted.

The thing I'll remember the most was how the Feds just stood in a skirmish line for weeks on end outside the Portland Federal Courthouse. They just started taking the fences down today. I wondered why they let that go on for so long, but they probably allowed it. After the response to Jan 6 the Feds suddenly pulled out all the facial recognition and phone tracking and APBs to round up whoever the fuck was in the building or area.

I think it was just about Feds using the tech and tools to defend themselves. Fuck the law abiding citizenry. Maybe they just want everyone to live in fear.

That's what Beanie Man suggested today. Minneapolis PD is already fucked by a combination of officers walking off the job and severe defunding by local politicians. They're realizing they fucked up now that they're turning into the murder capital of the country, so they're doing everything they can to get more officers and dump more money into the department. If Chauvin gets convicted, it will cut their dwindling potential recruit pool down to nothing, and the town will get nogged into oblivion. The city may pressure the prosecution to drop the ball in hopes that their city can start to make a recovery.

The quality of police would drop for sure. I know I'd do my best to do as little work as possible if I was on their force.

A low quality force will lead to an actual incident of a bad cop hurting someone. Then get a new cycle of riots..

It's a no-win situation. Chauvin gets convicted and BLM becomes more convinced than ever that jogging out gets them what they want and criminal elements will be more emboldened than ever. Chauvin walks and BLM gets another shot in the arm, because all that righteous fury from last year wasn't enough and they're just going to have to force us to #BeBetter. Minneapolis burns and completes its transition to third world shithole just a bit faster.

Was it really a smart idea to put his knee on Floyd's neck? Was is a necessity? From all the footage shown, the cops did do everything possible to help the guy and laid him on the concrete since he asked them too. And then he put his knee on his neck and destroyed everything.

The city will never recover. Urban decay exists for a reason. If it breaks, especially in these black-centric progressive communities, it stays broken. Those buildings that are destroyed will not be rebuilt. The rubble will probably still be there considering how much it costs just to remove it.

The problems Minneapolis PD has with funding, recruitment and leadership both on the police brass and city council sides are hardly specific to Minneapolis, they exist in most major cities throughout the country. Minneapolis is just a case study in things accelerating to shit rather than just making its way there eventually.

A knee hold is SOP for a subject that is under the influence of narcotics and may be a threat. This is taught at every local, state, and federal law enforcement academy and is in no way controversial or out of line.
