I wonder if it’s foreshadowing a proper video talking about Quinton’s downward spiral, or maybe it’s just a one-off shitpost. I’d assume it’s the latter since he’s already covered the guy before in an old video, and might not have much more to cover. Though then again, Fantano was covered in that same video with Quinton, and yet Tom still put out a new video discussing Fantano’s rise and fall with his audience. So I guess it could potentially happen.
How so? I know he’s been previously discussed in Pyro’s thread and was also mentioned in the Commentary Community OP. Yet neither thread gave me the impression that he’s a full on cow.

I dunno if anyone here is familiar with Dear Leader Null's WingsOfRedemption stream but there's a part where he goes over Wings' famous meltdown and how angry it makes him to hear a grown man start whining like a wounded dog...that's how Quinton's writing makes me feel.

Listed as a gaming laptop. Why the fuck you buy a laptop without checking it first? You cannot tell me he did investigate much if he was surprised by the lack of ports.
The fucking third result on Best Buy. Not a single pre-built PC costs more than half what the laptop costs.

He's so fucking pathetic. He hates himself so much that he can't even be alone with himself.
I get wanting a laptop to be mobile (since Q said he likes working in cafes...even though it's a pandemic). Given that he's consoomer and doesn't do the basic amount cursory research, 8GB RAM for a "video editing" machine is definitely not enough, unless he likes waiting a long while to export.
I doubt he's the kind of guy who closes his programs/tabs, but that would also greatly impact audio recording with such shitty amount of RAM.

I have the same laptop for school as it's light but got a decent amount of power in it. The thing is it comes in various configurations, mine has a 16 gigs of RAM and a 1tb nvme ssd and and a nvidia rtx2060 max q and a ryzen 4900hs . This is the max specs this laptop comes with and they're not bad but I wouldn't use it as a dedicated video editing machine for many reasons
1) the screen is only 14 fucking inches.
2) it lacks upgrade pathways even for a laptop, one of the ram sticks is soldered into place meaning you'll have an uneven ram configuration but I think you could hit 24 gigs total in a 16x8 configuration but to even do that you need to detach the entire motherboard to access the ram slots. Something beginners will struggle with.
To upgrade the nvme drive means starting from a new install as that's the only drive on the whole laptop.
3) it's loud and runs hot as fuck.
4) it runs awful out of the box, needs you to go through and edit a few things in the registry to get it to function properly without it wanting to run boosted 24/7.
5) the lack of ports, this isn't that big of a deal if you use it as Intended, school work, light video editing and some gaming on the side, this is not meant as a desktop replacement, this is meant for students or traveling business men who want to do some gaming on their down time but have a laptop that's not heavy and looks professional.
If he wanted one that could video edit decently and has a good number of ports he should have gone with the g15 or go with a flagship gaymer laptop. Or just buy or build a desktop. It's cheaper and they run way better and have a longer lifespan.

I don't get why this is so hard for him. If he doesn't want to spend 6 months building a custom PC (even though it takes one afternoon assuming you have some idea of what you're doing) then he can just buy one for cheaper than a laptop. Woke Blue Muttlema already shared an affordable example. Does he not want to be viewed as a gamer? Is that too masculine for soyboys? He's being a massive prick to people who are just trying to help.
Why does he want to work while at a cafe? He's not a college student getting a Starbucks drink and finishing a paper, he's a 24 (25?) year old sad sack making videos he hates for an audience he hates. Seems like location wouldn't matter that much.

How pathetic. Even I would know how to fix this issue with no issues whatsoever. Just build yourself a nice multi-monitor video editing machine and install the OS of your choice. It will take a chunk of cash out of your pocket, but a YouTube content creator would easily recoup the losses.

I didn't know much about computers when I built mine. Asked for a build, ordered the parts, watched a tutorial or two and followed the manuals. Easy as fuck even if you're lazy. Do it Quinton.

Or, if you're really that turned off by the building part itself, just order all the parts and have a local friend/colleague who's into building computers build it for you. Offer them a pizza and some drinks or something for the job. It's not that hard but it's also even easier to get around the problems.
It would be, but when has being sad ever stopped Quinton before? If you're going to try and pull the depressed soyboy vibe, at least commit to it. It's only sad if you treat it like it's sad, too. Like how some people won't go to restaurants alone—just act like a normal human being who does things because you want to and without caring how others might potentially react.

I can never understand that mindset. I can understand being afraind to build you own pc because the parts are expensive out side of installing the cpu(mostly because of the pins) componets don't need to be handled like fine china just a slow aproch will do just fine. I think Quintion is just afarid to step out side his comfort zone and do something that could be a little bit challaning. It's sad really because he is handicapping himself in the long run.

This amuses me to no end as I spent the last weekend looking for a new laptop, specifically looking at Asus models. I get not wanting a desktop PC, I'm in a situation in which a laptop is needed due to travel and lack of room, so I don't judge that.
But Asus has laptops out there that can do video editing and all that Quinton could ever need, but that's not the one he bought. It's an investment for your only job, Quinton, you need to check the specs and spend a bit more money. There's plenty of guides and comparisons for that. I think he got this one because it seemed relatively cheap compared to other models that could have actually done what he needs.

This is what I did: gave my friend a budget, he ordered all the parts and put it together and the PC has run like a dream ever since. I'd like to have a go at building my own some day but I'm also a mongoloid who drops magnets on hard drives so maybe not...
I think we've cracked the mystery of why Q's depressed though. If I had to do semi-complex video editing on a fucking 14" laptop I'd want to kill myself too.

I don't get why Q opted in for a laptop. I had one when I was at uni cause I traveled a lot. IMO this is pm the only case where you would prefer a laptop over a pc. But I don't think his two 1-2 weeks long trips per year warrant that. From what I understand if he bought a PC he'd get a better bang for his buck, plus PCs are always better in the long run cause you can just upgrade the components later on, instead of replacing the whole thing
Or you can literally hire someone for not that much money. You don't need to work with one of those custom built pcs that look like christmas tree places, just put an ad on craigslist or something and you'll find plenty of people who'll help you build a pc from scratch and it won't cost you much

Let's consider the following:
1. He already did travel by himself a year ago to Disneyland for almost three weeks.
He was inspired to do so because he had bought an Annual Pass that was about to expire when he considered moving to California and he wanted to take a holiday because he was depressed due to channel stagnation.
Quinton showcased how he had to pay employees to take photos of him, how drunk he was getting, how lonely he felt and how he was avoiding thinking about his channel.
2. Travelling to Disneyland is a way YouTubers have for bonding and networking.
One of the legendary anecdotes by ex-friend Chris Ray Gun is that Q tried to get into Disneyland without paying because he had befriended some YouTubers. A common practice of YouTubers during VidCon is visiting Disneyland just to fool around. After pretty much getting ex-communicated by all the big circles it must be a bummer to travel to the one place that reflects all of your failures by yourself.
3. Quinton wants to be seen and share meaningful moments with other Youtubers.
If he really just wanted to go to Disneyland with someone he could ask his irl friends or family instead of waiting for someone with Internet clout to hit him up for the purpose of getting wasted at a place most commonly targeted to families even though these days it panders to lonely millennials.
Quinton is featured in a short animation by worldsbestmichael. I think this what he meant by doing voice work for a YouTuber.
In his first voice role since that time he read one line for Defunctland, Quinton (credited as Quinton R) plays Partridge, a hairy mammoth-looking thing that is lazy and speaks like he doesn't give two fucks about anything. Hope this doesn't become type-casting.

I will go against the grain here and say that laptop isn't a bad choice in today's climate. I wanted to say that the performance difference between laptops and desktops is probably the smallest it's ever been, but I'm not sure if that's true - it is true, however, that laptops have more than enough performance for video editing these days, as long as you buy a decent one.
The big thing though is current PC market, graphics cards are really hard to get and prices for them are through the roof. You could get a prebuild, sure, but they might also be somewhat limited in supply, and they generally aren't super well balanced. So a laptop isn't a bad choice, especially since it gives you the mobility and doesn't confine you into a chair, quite a decent benefit for people whose work is mostly confined to a home. Also, one huge thing, warranty and support - you won't get any if you build it yourself, for someone who doesn't understand computers this is great.
Q is just tech illiterate, plus he's a cheapskate - your PC is your work machine, it literally makes you money, spending just 1k on it is stupid. Getting a pc/laptop that will render videos faster, that will be smoother while editing is saving you time and therefore making money. Also saying he's using "mic and adapter" sounds bad, is he using some cheap 3,5mm jack or a usb mic? Quinton please, just buy a decent quality studio XLR mic
