Drugs are extremely cheap compared to surgeries especially drugs where the patent has expired and a lot of people use grey market or black market hormones to avoid any psych evaluations from doctors.

I don't live an a country where insurance companies overcharging for drugs comes into the equation. But they profit so much because the people buying are avoiding doctors and pysch evals like I said. The amount of money made by pharmaceutical companiess from people who think they're trans is extremely negligible. I'm speaking from experience of having worked half my working life for pharmaceutical companies.
I don't actually believe that outside of hormones and other medical things it's possible to make money of troons. Outside of maybe being a recipient of their life insurance. Troons are probably the worst market a product one could aim at because they don't want anything that's meant for them. They only want what's designed for cis women/men. Even if there's a product out there that would be objectively better they wouldn't buy it if it wasn't explicitly made for cis people.
