Would imagine she earns less, though, given she has no qualifications beyond high school, is 19, and is restricted by time spent in lectures etc. Can only speak from my own experience but when I was doing my undergrad I could only squeeze in 2-3 shifts per week.

I agree she is most likely earning less, but unless we know actual numbers I have to guesstimate based off average salaries. Conversely, Jr's job was gifted to him by his grandpa, so he might be making more than average for a HVAC repairman.

Bottom line though is that if they were living on their own without any crutch from mom, that they would barely be 'above water' living in a 1 bedroom apartment. Thinking more about it, Jr most likely pushed to rent a 2 bedroom apartment so he could have his "studio".

Looks like starting pay for a csr is $12 an hour. It might go up to $24 but to get that you have to be a lifer and be pretty essential with institutional knowledge (i.e. an sme)

Either way I get what you are saying. I think they have aimed too high. They should have started out in a shitty cheap place so they could save every dollar they can for when they need it. If that is the apartment complex they have chosen its not all that bad for some youngins.

Depends on the landlord and the conditions, but most apartments I've lived in were fixed.

Typically higher end places like that are fixed 1yr lease, 30 day vacate notice, 1 month up front payment, and a security deposit.
