Inactive Byuu / byuu_nyan / setsunakun0 / Near / David Ginder - "Non-binary" furry programmer who wrote a Super Nintendo emulator, tried to blackmail Null into removing his thread, and is probably actually dead lol

Yeah, this looks like someone who's ready to abandon their name and start everything anew.
Jesus Christ, that's cringe! That's just butchering the title screen! I am OK with someone putting their name there and maybe their icon or whatever in a non intrusive way, but this is something that reminds me of the bootleg, sorry, "official licensed by Steepler" Mario sequels. It's an eyesore. DeJap was more discrete if anything and didn't butcher title screens like that. Looks like Byuu's ego reached its peak.

If you couldn't tell, that's obviously a joke.

By whom though?
If Byuu did it then it's just a pretending to be retarded situation. "Haha. I did something completely in line with the rest of my character"
It was a jab at the title screen of the old Bahamut Lagoon translation.

One of Byuu's goals for the new translation was to contain "absolutely no self-promotion or hidden easter eggs replacing dialogue from the original game", which seems to be a direct response to how blatant it was in the old patch.

For comparison, this is how the title screen looks in the new patch.

Now I see. I dunno, the DeJap one isn't even too bad, maybe it's because it's their logo, maybe because it looks cool, and maybe it's the Byuu drama bias. Or maybe it's even nostalgia, because of DeJap being a retro emulation relic, like ZSNES.

Out of boredom I input Byuu in some AI text to image generator. This is the result. Based from what I've read, I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually Byuu.

byuu (or near, i'll probably never get used to calling him that) had another fluff piece written on him by fucking patrick klepek of all people and, more importantly, his work on n64/ps1 emulation is starting to produce some results

i'm glad he's doing what he does best again, if it actually lasts and n64 emulation becomes slightly less atrocious that'd be cool. if he has another identity crisis then so be it

I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again, anyone who's into assembly programming is schizophrenic or otherwise batshit insane. You gotta be real intimate with the SNES' instruction set/assembly language to write an emulator for it.
I know this post is old, but assembly programming is pretty much a must for certain systems. Doesn't mean you're schizophrenic. Many now well known game programmers did coding in assembly back in the day. Classic NES, SNES and MD games were done in assembly. The 8 bit guy made his games in assembly. Though, admittedly, he is a bit odd. Jon Burton also did that and even showed how he did it on Coding Secrets and he's also a normal and successful guy. Assembly programming isn't as scary as one might think, though proper documentation is more critical. Unless you dabble into programming for various DSPs, then it can get pretty wild, as Jon showed in his videos. Coding games for old systems gives you a small but consistent audience. And if you're lucky you can get some dirt cheap 32 Mbit flashcarts from China and then sell your game for 30-50x more money. Writing and emulator is more difficult than writing a game. Oh, did I forget to mention that the guys at Rare hid a ZX Spectrum emulator for the N64 in Goldeneye?

"His mind settled on an unfinished project he'd been working on, in various forms, since 1998, when he was a young and inexperienced 15-year-old amateur programmer"
If this is true, this solves the mistery about his age. Someone, not sure if here or on some other forum, mentioned speculations about his age when he started on BSNES ranging from being a high school student to maybe a 30 year old guy. Looks like he's a "genius college dropout 30 year old furry failure" or whatever the original destinations were.
Also, how did he manage, of all things, to fuck up so bad with the ROM size? 64 Mbit from 24 Mbit can't be from just text, can it? Where did the extra 5 MiB come from? It's well known that a floppy can fit about 300 pages of plain text. Which is an entire book. In 1.44 MB. Somehow Byuu added 4 entire books worth of text. What the hell?

Relax schizo, "(being) into (something)" means being passionate about it, not having a baseline understanding and tolerance of it.

Sure, let me take a shot of rakija and prosecco. That relaxes me very reliably. Well, being passionate is also not necessarily being a schizo, though not even unlikely. Being elitist about it and throwing politics and trooning into it, like Byuu did in those certain occasions, is a different story. Yeah, Trump is gonna ruin your gay marriage. And he ain't happy about trooning. But how is that related to emulation? Will trooning out help with accuracy? Is Trump gonna force us to use ancient DOS only versions of ZSNES? Will Biden fund BSNES and Higan development? He probably finds scratching his left ass cheek more important.

Here's a couple of explanations I could find regarding the ROM size increase:

On a side note (not sure if I'm late here) it seems like Byuu's old twitter account has been excluded from archive.org.

Furry porn
Of course, what else to expect? Then again, he could fit Final Fantasy IV and VI in those 5 megs. Or even better, patch the whole ROM to use the SDD-1 for shits and giggles and fit even FFV so he blesses us with a JRPG multicart. And still have room left for furry porn. After all, he said himself there aren't physical limits with actual cartridges like what it was in 1996.

Wait so did Tom actually quit after the troon fiasco or is he quietly continuing working?
Wait, is that Tom guy also a troon? What's the backstory behind him?

The guy who translated all the goemon games on snes. The problem being that he translated them correctly and 90's japan occasionally made vaguely rude jokes about transsexuals.
Tons of romhacking websites got super mad and impotent rage 101 got in on the action too.

Wow. That's autistic and ungrateful. This bloke just wanted to translate Japan only games correctly, yet, if I am not mistaken, the troons, Kpop stans and spergs ended up being super mad at him. I wonder if any of them spoke Japanese and sperged via email to the studios who made the games, if they still exist.

"We at konami are terribly sorry for the tranny jokes and as such have decided to retroactively stop producing games six years ago. All offended trannys are eligable for some free chips on our real money slot machine phone apps"

Ay, hold on a minute. If Byuu is trooning out (or did he give up on trooning?) why did he want to move to Japan if they made troon jokes? Did he stop trooning when he realized that? And how can he be in a gay marriage, yet then says he's asexual and merely leaning towards gay? Why did he even marry, then?
