Any attention that you pay to Phil increases the overall reach of the total attention paid to Phil on the internet, which increases the odds of another sped stumbling across Phil and becoming a whale. Even me just posting on this forum about him does this.
BSV found Phil through Metokur making videos about Phil. BSV is some Norwegian weirdo who survived some kind of boat sinking as a child. He has thrown tens of thousands at Phil.
Swagginz found Phil by watching various TIHYDPs and thinking they were the funniest thing he's ever seen. Swagginz has given thousands to Phil.
If you participate in the Autism Vortex surrounding Phil you are raising his attention profile and on some level you are contributing to making it more likely that a new sped with an open wallet will stumble across him. The more directly you participate the more attention you bring to the Autism Vortex, and the more fun you make it for people to participate in the Autism Vortex on the level you do.
Sometimes I will sit in a restream live for a bit. When I do so I raise the viewer count for that stream and increase the likelihood of random people stumbling across that restream in a directory or getting a random recommendation.
You say there are only 30 people participating in Phil's chat to downplay how your participation in his chat helps him. Imagine if you stopped posting in his chat whatsoever. Imagine if everyone of a similar mindset to you stopped posting in Phil's chat. Imagine if there were literally like just 10 Derichs posting in Phil's chat. Do you think the whales who want attention would be more or less inclined to throw money at Phil? Do you think the random speds would have more or less fun posting in a dead, meme-less chat? Why do you like making Phil's Twitch chat a 'fun' place whose 'vibe' you like participating in? Why do you like increasing Phil's Twitch sub-directory ranking?
