I don't know the current prices but not too long ago you used to be able to find people desperate enough to get rid of their alpacas that they were literally giving them away.

According to this article Penny found an old couple that wanted their 80 alpacas to be someone else's problem and that was the start of the tranch. It doesn't mention how much he paid for it, but I can not imagine that it was much and I'm willing to bet that they were free. I imagine that this is also how they got the rest of the alpacas and all the other animals for that matter.

Champion gensets are cheap, loud, air cooled portable Chinese units. Designed for emergency or job site use. Also not very green in both emissions and fuel consumption. 3lbs of propane an hour at 50% load.

You would think with all the gofundme gibs they would at least get a real genset. Watercooled that can last more then 6 months. The fuel savings alone would make it worth it.

This is the one thing they need to get water out of the ground for themselves and their 200++ animals. And they pick literally the cheapest, bare minimum thing that could grenade at any time.
