The fuck do they need a drone for? They can see every corner of their property from a central location, there are zero sightblockers anywhere, and that's probably a big part of why they are more paranoid than they should be: they can see past their own property and on to that of others where normal movements of others are interpreted as "fash recon" and "right wing militia deathsquads".

A pvs-14 would be more than sufficient for their needs. Hell they might be able to put together an infrared spotlight solution for less, though they'd probably be cobbling together old military hardware and need actual know-how to do so.

Edit: And it occurs to me that if they start sending that drone over other people's property (which won't be hard given how small their own currently is) they might find they've purchased the world's most expensive clay pigeon.
Exactly.

A low-tech solution would be to put together an IR spotlight with a cellphone camera and/or just use one of these.

But then,
1. People could expect them to produce footage of these alleged right-wing recon ninjas
2. They would have evidence to supply to law enforcement for prosecution instead of getting to fulfill their violent fantasies

Edit: Ninja'd, they got cameras! What's the over/under on them actually mounting them?

That’s true, it’s just a lousy choice for a self defense round in Colorado. Expensive and impractical.

$800 could of gotten them many different pistols for carrying but these dumbasses don’t have any weapons or financial sense.

Reminds me of all the Socialist Rifle Club posts in facebook where members would posts pictures of their firearms with the communist manifesto and etc. Never saw anything I would want to go to war with. Just Kel-Tecs, generic cheaply made AKs, .22 LR pistols, California compliant AR-15s, and once saw complete PSA AR with the logos covered up since PSA is a very right wing company. Leftists are cheap in all the wrong ways.

Edit because I don’t want to double post: off the top of my head, standard civilian 5.7mm is going to behave like a normal 9mm FMJ but with more velocity. The caveat is, carry pistols shouldn’t use FMJ because of penetration liability (especially if you miss). Hollow points are what anyone carrying a pistol in public should use. Because hollow points are banned by the Geneva convention, militaries don’t use them but cops do.
Here’s the thing about cheap guns: they still work. CA compliant rifles still work. Cheap AK’s and AR’s still work. If someone wants a semi auto or cheap light revolver for home defense, .22 LR works fine - better than nothing and the ammo is cheap as shit for practicing with. Hi-Points might be a meme but they’re stupidly tough and don’t set you back a lot of cash - perfect for someone too poor to get something better or simply worried about it getting stolen.

Hell, I own two guns from Century Arms because I’m a Cold War hipster and like shit like the Vz 58 and wanted an affordable FAL. Are they amazing guns? No. Are they better than no guns? Yes.

Also while I’m admittedly a Ruger fan (their plinking pistols are fantastic and many of their bolt rifles are made lefty’s like me) I could never in good consciousness drop 2 grand on a gun in .300 Win Mag, nothing against the round but it’s harder to find.

Then again I was seriously tempted by a bubba’d up Krag-Jorgensen for $400 so my opinion on niche calibers is probably not to be listened to.

The more I look at the weaponry, the more I begin to question if they legally acquired them. IDK Colorado Gun laws (or the lack of them), but does anyone know if they're pissing the ATF with them? Or if we can teach them to use bump stocks to get the ATF on them?
It all looks civilian legal. Nothing appears to be automatic or otherwise requiring NFA registration.

Low tech? They got 10 dogs. That alarm system is 10x better then any of this garbage.
Also funny thing about these IP cam things... they all need the one thing they don't have much of: electricity :story:
Also I wonder what their internet is? LTE hotspot? Thats going to do well uploading 10 ip cams to the cloud.

It’s stupid easy to get guns in much of the US. I ordered my Vz and picked it up in the store after a cursory background check the same day. I bought my FAL off an old guy who got it from an estate sale - all he wanted was for another boomer to vouch for my “good character”

Shelving brackets. DON'T Do this.

(power leveling) but I guess living in the Cuomo Clique really deludes me on the sort of weapons i can access and how easy they are to buy

(also how the fuck do shelving brackets work to make bumpstocks better?)

In my early 20's I worked around a bunch of counter-culture crackpots that would sperg for hours on end about renting out a school bus and turning it into a mobile apartment... or adopting a ranch full of living animals... or living in a 10-room remote chateau with 50 of their sex pest friends.

It was all a big departure from the "3 bedroom house, picket fence, 3-person family" style they were used to growing up with. Basically they wound up living in their parents' basement forever with a worn down old 80's Winnebago outside that rusted over and became wrapped by weeds. That was their "school bus". None of them were practical handy or even went camping. None of them understood how to discharge grey water or generate mobile power. They opted for a 1,000 rustbucket that went as far as it could before it broke down the first time.

The "let's live in a mansion with 50 of us and our dogs" idea also almost failed. It turned into 5 of them sharing a studio apartment for some reason. They'd almost always fight and one would have a drug problem, one wouldn't be employed, and 2 of them would be working at a min-wage establishment to keep the lights on. They'd all be living in squalor.

I've never met any of the "OOO LETS LIVE ON A RANCH FULL OF [Random obscure animal here]" until now. It sucks about as bad as I thought it would. These people don't understand that this requires a massive amount of responsibility. Way more than simply mowing the lawn or taking out the trash. Things they couldn't even bear to do.

I kind of hold a special contempt for people who made an impulsive decision and waste all of this farmland. I hope it gets appropriated soon. Colony collapse and the US are on a head-on collision.

Calling it "farmland" is a bit of a stretch. It's bare, infertile scrubland that's so inhospitable that the growing season is only 60 days of the year. You might get one crop of onions or something equally worthless if you're lucky.

As someone else said, land this shitty is only good for low-density ranching. Some chickens to scratch about. Something like pigs or goats that will eat just about anything including your kitchen scraps. Not a herd of 300+ alpacas on 36 acres of borderline dustbowl.

They spent $800 on a pistol from a company with QA issues to fire a very expensive PDW round. These people don’t know weapons, they could of gotten Glock 17 or 34s for less and it would of been a more practical pistol.

Not to mention the need for a 5.7mm pistol. That’s a terrible defensive round since the full power version was designed to penetrate body armor and it’s to expensive to shoot to practice. Hollow points are the standard carry munition and they aren’t using them.

Hey, maybe they've got a really bad Armadillo problem and need that AP power.

If these where 4chan /k/ommando's fed posting this hard with KEKistan flags in the background the feds and ATF would have kicked their doors and shot all their dogs 2 days ago.
OH definitly, I was more just referring to how these are just a bunch of dudes doing what paranoid dudes would do with easy access to cash and rural "ranch"

Just faggoty dudes, not women

They had bacon on the breakfast picture, its not like they're a bunch of vegans. Food animals would definitely have been a better choice.

Would you buy food animals from them? In order to cut down on the cost of processing meat you usually have to learn to do it in house as butchers get expensive quick. Their hygiene is questionable for themselves, expecting them to properly handle and manage meat / it's processing is far beyond the scope of their abilities.
