Yes and no. You have to stand out somehow every day the v-tuber scene is getting more and more saturated so you should probably work on actually being entertaining. That said a cute anime girl avatar will probably get you way more views than no avatar at all.

As for making one. The easy mode is probably doing V-Roid studio and editing one of the preset models. You can also use a Live2D model created in Cubism. Its a ton of work if you want to make something decent and if you have 0 artistic knowledge you can just drop anywhere from $500-$1000 to have someone make one for you. I created a concept for one about 4 months ago but didn't really detail anything and haven't really worked on it due to not wanting to get home after a day of work to work even more on trying to finish the art and then rigging the model with a program I know little to nothing about. Thought about just paying $500 to have someone do it for me but money's tight at the moment.

To add to the language learning shit I'm honestly surprised the mormons haven't tried to set up a BYU school in Japan somewhere. Judging by the amount of mormons I've known who know multiple languages and how almost all of them that I've talked to learned the language at one of the BYU campuses and did it very quickly the mormons seemingly have some kind of efficient system. Probably would rake in some big bucks, or at least a few converts.

I'm pretty sure the Mormons already do language education in Japan. Yukihiro Matsumoto (the guy who created the Ruby programming language) was born in Osaka and has lived his entire life in Japan, but he speaks exemplary English. Most people chalk it up to him being a Mormon.

But most Japanese aren't fans of Mormons and see them as pretty kooky so I don't think such a program would garner much interest on a large scale.

That kinda makes sense I guess, especially given Japans not so distant in the past history with cults going nuts, though the worst mormons have done of that kinda shit was killing some feds like 150 years ago.

Mel had to go on a lengthy hiatus because of legal troubles I will go into following and has had trouble gaining as much steam as some other holos since then.

Now let me take this opportunity to clear things up about Mel because I've seen idiots claiming lately that she was raped or physically assaulted and that's not what happened. I don't know the exact events and relations because I'm relying on people like actual Lyger being a little flakey about their translation of the statements, but here's what seems to have happened: A manager had been abusing his position to talk to her for long periods of time and was fired because of it. Fall 2019, Mel began receiving harassing messages, culminating in the person revealing themselves as that manager and threatening to do something to her during her 3d reveal. She went to Cover and the police and the situation seems to have been taken care of in court this time last year. Here's the statements from Mel and Cover:

I remember reading about the stalker being someone who knew her irl, didnt know it was a manager. That said it is pretty scary situation that some creepy psycho probably knows her and her location and could potentially target/harm her a few months or a years down the line.
