I wonder if Rhys has to work 6 weeks before he can officially leave his job. I had to go on FMLA and according to HR, if I didn't return to work for at least 6 weeks after the leave, I could be required to pay back the cost of my insurance (both their contribution and mine). That was a while ago and a different state, so the rules might be different -- but he could be out some cash if he doesn't come back to work long enough. Though, CoC might not make a big deal out of it since they want him gone. Maybe they agreed to let him slide on that to make him feel like he "won" something.

The aspect of this that's really going to be fun is that he'll have one job. Part of how he rope-a-doped his university is that he has three jobs (teaching, research, and service), most of which are evaluated by people other than his actual employers. In real employment he's going to be reporting to a specific someone to do a specific job. And I can't wait to see the sparks fly.
