You do have a point tbh. There have been recent studies (too lazy to link them) that hypothesize that most child sexual abuse is done because of the power dynamic, and very little to do with the pedophilia angle. While it's still a hypothesis, an intriguing one at that, but we will probably never know what the main reason people do it for is.

The majority of CSEM contains girls but let's be real, for the most part the gender of the child usually doesn't matter to pedophiles.
