if that won't trigger a civil war, I don't know what will.
i'd gladly die for my anime waifu

edit:
to support my rrat that Ao-chan is Mama'nis/Ane'nis, Ina just mentioned that her mom knows her streaming schedule, in case she takes a nap and has to be woken up (which is why she was late for today's stream, Mama'nis wasnt home)

edit2:
we are now in the "Eating ASMR" part of the stream.

I think new Pikamee is super adorable, but I think new Tomoshika is actually slightly creepy, and I can’t quite put my finger on why.
I definitely prefer the old Tomoshika.

I do wonder what Monoe would have looked like, as the “cool” character in the redesign.
What's off to me about the design is the removal of her twintails. That and the raised bangs make her head look really big. I don't mind the flesh fangs, but probably should have kept it at one.
To me it's not even the lack of twin-tails, it's how thin her hair is relative to the rest of her face/eyes/ears. That and it reminds me too much of a poorly designed Magia Record character.
For reference

I like Tomoshika's new design, even if she looks like she was the Monstar that took Barkley's B-Ball energy, and she's still not used to it. Pls no bulli her. (:_(

Monster Hunter is hard to describe, but imagine it as "Boss Fights: The Game". People find a lot of parallels with Dark Souls - very deliberate combat with attacks that leave you open to being wrecked if you aren't careful. Unlike Dark Souls however, there's no leveling, only getting good will solve your problems. Most hunts have a limit of 50 or 30 minutes, and it's not unusual for the harder monsters to have your initial kill take that long. It has an absolutely huge following in Japan, but it really didn't explode in the West until Monster Hunter World came out.

The game cycle consists of hunting monsters, carve up the monsters into parts, turn the parts into weapons and armor, use the weapons and armor to hunter bigger and meaner monsters. Occasionally you change 'tiers' or 'ranks', however that particular game refers to it. Stuff will hit harder, have more attacks, newer even more aggressive monsters will be added.

The playstyle variety comes from which of the 14 different weapons you main. As an example, The great sword is a giant slab of metal that encourages a hit and run style gameplay. Line up one massive hit, connect with the mob, and get away so you can set up the next hit. Compare this to the dual blades, where you become a blender of many smaller hits, Naruto running around the monster and hacking at their ankles nonstop.

Honestly, it's one of my absolutely favorite game series and I can't wait for the new one to come out next week. I've put hundreds of hours into multiple titles, and it continues to be one of the most rewarding and satisfying game series I've ever played. I think it would be an amazing collab game, and I eagerly wait with bated breath to see if anyone picks it up as a regular game.

As someone who has put thousands upon thousands of hours into MonHan since my first game, Tri, I can confirm and agree with all of this handedly. I've got 1500 hours in World (PC) alone lol. Just preordered Rise today, matter of fact. MonHan is some of the most fun you can have in vidya if you're into the style, but it's definitely not for everyone - lots of plebs get hard-filtered, even with the handholding they introduced in World. Rise looks to further the handholding too, which is a shame, but I get it.

This is a longer version of that video that contains even more of the crap the poor girl was dealing with. Puts a bit into perspective how much the suspension probably weighed on her. Her return stream was pretty heartfelt at times.
Edit: I'm aware that it her situation was improved at that time, but given how streaming was her mental outlet, it was still a bit of a blow I'd think.
Every time I rewatch that video, it's just insane to me. How can family treat her like that? I know some families have scummy members, but as someone who comes from a totally normal background with no degenerate family members, it still always bothers me. Haato's been having a rough couple of years, but at least she's back home now and doesn't have to worry about that part of her misery. I highly doubt she's eager to ever see those relatives of hers ever again.

The contest rrat is a little annoying to me since it doesn't really fit with her saying, "other people are able to do it, so why can't I?" and it's accepted as fact even though it has no basis besides being popular on 4chan. Still, it isn't any less true than my redesign rrat and we don't actually know what she cried and took a break over.

BTW, AZKi's MV music fest has not been stopped and is going full steam ahead despite Youtube working as intended early on:
I can soft-confirm the contest bit, as well. The Japanese fellow who I screencapped way back when Pekora's incident happened told me the deal after she came back (we've become good friends since we started talking back then) and explained everything. She wanted to hold a giveaway for the fans, I think it was game consoles (and games too), but due to 'reasons' management told her no, but she didn't give more details about why specifically. Some people here have posited stuff about gambling liabilities with Japanese law and all that, I can't say for sure, but I was told it was a contest/giveaway she wanted to host.

(from a youtube comment, as I'm an EOP)
>7:45 To say it bluntly: the things everyone wanted... All the things I wanted to do.. I lost everything
>8:20 Why? If I have to say...
>8:41 At his moment... From now on... Astel Leda's content can't grow/flourish
My guess is that he had ideas for future projects, streams, maybe even 3D and management just shut him down? Wonder if he's experiencing burnout and is frustrated with his slow growth. Someone on hlg said Pekora once had a similar breakdown, might have to look into that later.
Honestly Cover actually does a decent amount to promote the holostars, I've seen quite a few big/corporate collabs with them, but I think they should be pushed more.
Now, this is just me completely spitballing here, no confirmation at all obviously, but when I read between the lines and kinda try to dig into it with a bit of logic I feel like Astel might be feeling the burn of "just being a Holostar," and how Cover management is blocking him from doing things that the Hololive girls are freely able to do. I feel like when he says he wants to "do more" and "flourish," that may be what it means. He may want to go beyond the realm of just streaming vidya and singing, and do 3D streams, big promotional collaborations, who knows what, but since he's not "one of the girls," Cover gave him the big fat nope.

But, like I said, just my speculation. If it winds up being true, that's depressing. The 'Stars popularity has been inclining a lot recently but they're still a long ways off from having all the same privileges and rights the Hololive girls have.

Chat trying to teach Gura to bomb jump so she can get to a point where they can teach her to wall jump.

Edit: She learned how to bomb jump.

Edit2: She's successfully wall jumped a couple times.

Edit3: The swap with BpM was in fact permissions related.

Tangentially related, but this popped up on my Twitter timeline. I feel like this comes from the same place as the ENVYtuber problems we see a lot of where they publicly shame people for dumbass reasons.

It looks like someone finally decided to key the JP in to what the dirty twitter commies are like. It's too good to NOT share here.

I was under the impression that it was a host family from the clip I watch long ago. Are you sure that the shit head is her relative?
