Lots of people know about the farms, especially if they are in a certain age category, just as those people might also know about ED. That is a far, far cry from even just visiting and reading, though, nevermind being a member. I think just sort of half-assuming that comes across as a bit egocentric - taking oneself more important than one is.

plus it doesn't take much to read the farms while taking a shit or whatever, and unless I missed it everything besides a&n is still public anyway, so you don't even have to be a member or need to actively participate. if you can read /vt/ or even reddit with it's crappy new design following a linear thread like this is piss easy.

That's a good point. I'm not a fan of spreading personal info around, but on the internet, all it takes is someone willing to do it and you giving them info to spread. It's already escalated to being a ubiquitous threat so moral arguments against it at any level don't really hold water. The idea that only evil people should be doxxed brings in a little morality through the backdoor though in that it is a statement on the person being immoral enough to make would-be doxxers put forth the effort.

My thoughts on the subject are a work in progress though, that's just where I currently stand on how doxxing can be less shitty. We're also posting on the most pro-doxx forum in the world, so there's a lot to be said about it that would be counterproductive.

the problem is "evil" is in the eye of the beholder. someone was mean to your oshi? obviously evil so you're morally justified to go all out, when it's just a poor excuse for shitty behavior (and most people don't need one anyway). it's like trying to remove "hate" via hatespeech laws.
as for the farms, the purpose (imo) was always a bit different, and dox has been abused as a word and concept hard. sometimes there are good reasons to have certain information available (as well as have it hidden), which sometimes goes as far as personal information. like if someone hides behind anonymity it makes sense to remove that cover if needed, but that still depends on what the goal is. so you doxxed the doxxer, now what?

I'm not that naive to think people stop doing it, humans gonna human and all that. but a community can self-police to a certain point. the only reason people even give a shit is because they think it's super important, but in reality who really cares about their roommate? and if you know, what's gonna change? as @Azchan said you'll always get creeps and tards, but for the rest when someone goes "ey ey, wanna hear some dox?!" getting a "don't care, fuck off" devalues that information commodity real quick.

don't get me wrong, I'm as curious as the next guy and even if you're a casual fan there's still some interest there, if not for mystery alone (people like to gossip and always will), but effectively nothing's gonna change much even if you know - unless your deluded enough to think you just have to fly over to have your waifu fall in love with you and be surprised it's an actual human that looks completely different (but then it can also work as a detergent, everything has pros & cons). in the end the only value dox have is what we give it and I can't think of much that would make it worth to suck discord tranny cock.

I would be morbidly curious to see what would happen if karen tried to work with US based hip hop artists, but for her own good she probably should not try.

As far as I know, they're almost exclusively an Asian phenomenon. If any exist in the US they'll be exclusively in California and Hawaii.

No, it's definitely not Detroit, and I'd even venture out to say that the particular Japanese underground hip-hop scene that Karen dabbles in is more of a niche, experimental one, but most native Nippon weeb viewers wouldn't know any better anyway. Lots of the good stuff that come from Japan (Nujabes, FAKE TYPE, etc) tend to sound different from what the US scene churns out anyway. Way better and preferable (IMHO) than fucking "mumble rap" at least.

As far as the "vtuber norms", I can only really specifically cite her stating wanting to also collab with folks she said that are outside the traditional vtubing scene. Other than Cr1TiKaL, it's been mostly assumed that she meant other music producers/artists as well. I can't find the exact chat stream VOD (at this point, she's got a lot), but she mentioned being repeatedly shut down by management and that she's giving up on it.
